Nourish the Sol Fundraising Campaign
Sol Sisters, Inc. is hosting its first mental health conference, Nourish the Sol, for women by women.
Project Description
When I first started Sol Sisters in 2013, I was interning as a Marriage and Family Therapist to low-income girls and their families in San Francisco, California. It was during this time when I began to see the need to diversify mental health services to best serve the community. I realized that cultural stigmas, cost, and accessibility were frequent barriers to individual and family therapy.
For the past five years, my team and I have provided solutions to these barriers by hosting holistic health events and services in: creative art expression, physical health, mental health, and healing through giving (community service). Since then, our mission has been to enrich, empower, and evolve women from all backgrounds.
Sol Sisters, Inc. has provided a number of mental health workshops for women in Oakland and San Francisco. This year, we will host our first mental health conference, Nourish the Sol, for women by women. Each workshop facilitator is a practicing mental health professional. They have prepared content that will reflect our mission to enrich, empower, and evolve our attendee's understanding of their mental and emotional health.
Income level and socioeconomic status should not prevent women from attending quality events like Nourish the Sol.
To help us keep our conference low to no cost, please consider donating to our cause. Your donation will directly allow women and girls from marginalized communities or with financial hardship to attend.

Q: How will I know what my donation goes towards?
A: We are a small nonprofit with volunteer staff who work tirelessly to provide women of all backgrounds quality events. The donations we receive from the community go solely to help us set aside tickets and resources for those who need financial assistance. If we receive a larger donation, that will also help us off-set the remaining costs that go towards the event.

Q: How can I encourage my community to donate to Sol Sisters?
A: Share this campaign with your networks, or share solsisters.org/donate. We appreciate donations of any amount.
A donation of $100 or more covers ticket entry, lunch, Bart ticket, and assists with venue fees.
You will be included in the conference program, receive Sol Sister’s 4-pack pins, and a Sol Sister's statement tee.

Your donation of $15 will cover ticket entry for a woman in need of financial assistance. Your name will be added to the list of donors we thank and acknowledge in the conference program.
Your $30 donation will cover the ticket entry and lunch (not provided at the conference) for a woman in need of financial assistance.
You will receive acknowledgement in the conference program and a Sol Sister's statement pin of your choice.
A donation of $50 provides ticket entry, lunch, and Bart ticket for a woman in need of financial assistance.
*Many under-resourced women reported transportation as a barrier to attending enrichment activities.
