MEET NOMADS SWIMWEAR

Nomads Swimwear is a destination-inspired, size-inclusive, brand that creates chic, high-quality swimwear for bodies of all sizes. Nomads seeks to bridge the gap and offer chic, bold swim styles for women of every size and show that real size inclusion is possible!  

THE PROBLEM

As a plus-size model, our founder, Taylor, is acutely aware of the lack of stylish swim options for curvier women. While on bookings she was able to analyze the fit, fabrication, and styles of the plus market and see a hole in the market for chic,  inclusive swim designs. Her plus-size friends and fellow models lamented their struggles of shopping for plus-size garments and how they wished they had the same options as their straight-size counterparts.

Most brand's size ranges stop at size 12/14 or XL and they do not offer sizes for curvier women. When brands do sell sizes beyond a size 12/14 or XL too often, their offerings are watered-down versions of their other designs and are substantially more covered up. So there is an entire segment of women who just happen to be curvy that are completely left out with it comes to finding stylish swimwear. 

THE SOLUTION

Enter Nomads Swimwear! At Nomads we want to bridge the gap by offering continuity across sizes in our chic, bold swim styles to show that real size inclusion is possible! It is our belief that everyone should have access to the same style of clothing, no matter their size, that is why it so important for us to have launched with an extensive size range of sizes small-4X! 

Inspired by the natural wonders of her travel destinations, Taylor, uses photo-realistic prints to adorn my size-inclusive swim styles. The unique prints derived from photos and universally flattering styles make Nomads Swimwear exceptional pieces that are made to last.

CONSUMER TRACTION

Nomads started as Taylor's senior capstone collection during her final semester of fashion design school at the University of Cincinnati.  It was there that she learned the fundamentals of design and was able to find the inspiration for the brand and the first collection. 

Throughout the creation process, she posted behind-the-scenes photos and videos of the swimsuits being constructed and the story of the prints on her social media account. The suits quickly garnered attention from friends and peers alike who were curious if she was going to have the swimwear produced and sold. And so she did! The support has only increased since moving into development/production  and subsequent launch of Nomads! Happy customers have repeatedly shared how impressed they are with the fit and quality of their Nomads suits.

MEET THE FOUNDER

My name is Taylor Long and I'm the founder of Nomads Swimwear. I'm also a designer and a working plus-size model. I studied fashion design at the University of Cincinnati. I have modeled for major brands like Target, Footlocker, and Kohl's and internationally in Australia. My experiences as a designer and model have allowed me to use my "particular genius" to change the world one swimsuit at a time!
