What is New Trail Cycling?
Launching late this summer, New Trail Cycling Studio is Reston's only boutique indoor cycling studio.
After spending years working out in intimidating, anonymous big box gyms or expensive, impersonal studios that miss the mark, I wanted to create a place that feels comfortable, safe, and accessible. Getting into a good workout routine is hard, particularly when you dread the gym or can’t find an instructor who understands what you need. At New Trail Cycling, we’ll offer classes for all types: teens, seniors, beginners, advanced athletes – just let us know where you are and we’ll find the class that works for you. Our coaches are trained to work with you and our classes are designed to fit your needs and help you reach your fitness goals.
Founded with the vision of bringing together our community through fun cycling workouts at every level, our space is meant to feel different than a trendy studio where results seem out of reach. We want you to look forward to working out with us – we promise to provide uplifting, intense rides that will leave you feeling better than you did 50 minutes ago. Our music will help lift you up and push you through the workouts. The benefit of a small studio is we can play what we want and make sure it's what you are looking to hear! Our site www.newtrailcycling.com will soon have coach's bios along with their preferred music.
Why do I need your support?
New Trail is not a franchise or a chain. It is a small business owned by me, Liz Kamp, a local Reston resident.
My husband and I have invested years of savings along with a bank loan to launch New Trail. While this is enough to get the business started, it’s important to me that we stay true to the vision of a community-focused studio with incredible workouts that appeal to every level of fitness and each person’s individual goals.
In order to compete with the well-funded, omnipresent big gyms and chain studios, I need to invest in the best coaches and state-of-the-art equipment. I want to create a small town feel with the amenities and service of a big city studio.
Where will your money go?
100 percent of the donations I receive will go back into New Trail Cycling upgrades. To start, we want to purchase:
1. Expanding our schedule from the start. Extra funds would allow for additional experienced staff members to be hired in order to offer a wider array of classes immediately GOAL: $1000
2. Silent Disco Headphones for special events - these wireless fitness headphones allow us to have specialty rides outdoors on the plaza without bothering anyone with our music. PRICE: $2000
3. Improving the quality of our sound system. We are already using a top-of-the-line system but there is an additional speaker upgrade I would love to do if we can. PRICE: $800
4. Improve some of our finishes and "extras" around the studio (Upgraded bathroom finishes, additional storage and seating, mural wall, extra swag) GOAL: $1200
About the Founder - Liz Kamp
I've been teaching, training and/or managing fitness facilities and programs since 2003. Through the years, I’ve successfully coached many types of clients: those dealing with injuries, new moms trying get back to a fitness routine, people struggling to motivate to exercise, even athletes trying to take it up a notch. I have dealt with each of these issues myself, and cycling has always been an outlet where I can focus on myself, feeling my best, and achieving my personal goals. At New Trail, people come to have fun while they get in shape, work toward fitness goals, and feel a sense of community – we’re all on this trail together.
As a Reston resident for almost a decade, I’m thrilled to be a member of the growing group of diverse and talented merchants at Lake Anne.
Thank you for visiting my page and for believing in New Trail! Starting this business has been my dream for many years, and I am motivated each and every day by the encouragement of those who are supporting and championing me!
