Melanated Beauty Spa is a day spa created to provide the best treatments for women and men of color.  

WHO WE ARE   

We celebrate diversity, representation and accessibility for everyone, and pride ourselves on being a space in which men and women of color can be confident in the care that they receive from our expert staff because our treatments and products are all chosen specifically for melanin skin.  While we are focused on melanated skin care, we provide services for everyone regardless of their skin color.   

THE PROBLEM   

Black women dominate the beauty industry. “According to WWD, Black women spend an estimated $7.5 billion annually on beauty products. This equates to 80 percent more on cosmetics and twice as much on skin care than other groups,” yet somehow, we still lack the space needed to care for our needs. While we may be able to find products that suit our needs, it’s impossible to find a self-care sanctuary that is inclusive to people of color.

Because melanin skin continues to be shoved to the side and ignored by major labels, men and women of color:   

1. Pay for products and services that do not cater to their unique needs, which can lead to overspending with underwhelming results 
2. Receive inaccurate advice from aestheticians who may not specialize in melanated skin care   
3. Support brands that do not share their personal values due to lack of options   
   
    

OUR SOLUTION   

We strive every single day to establish a space for women and men of color to confidently seek expert advice and receive curated treatment for their skin type. Melanated Beauty Spa provides a desperately needed oasis for people of color to finally get the skin and body care they have been missing for far too long.  
 

Melanated Beauty Spa closes the gap left in the beauty service industry and solves the issue of under and misrepresentation by:   

1. Offering quality products and services curated for Melanated skin   
2. Working with expert estheticians that understand how to care for our beautiful skin   
3. Providing inclusiveness for anyone and everyone   

MAKING A DIFFERENCE   

Melanated Beauty Spa's mission is to provide a wellness restoration haven, founded on the indispensable need for expertly tailored skincare services for individuals of color; providing a memorable experience facilitated by estheticians who are identifiable and sensitive to the pigmentation needs of all skin types. We extend a home to black owned skincare products through retailing opportunities that will give our clients a variety of melanin brands to choose from, exclusively designed for their skin. Clients are able to enjoy a wide selection of wellness services, such as: massages, facials, waxing, Lipo Cavitation treatments and skincare retail, from a spa designed for them. Selfcare is something that is often times seen as secondary or not even a thought when it comes to minorities, and we aim to change that narrative.

This is exactly why your contributions and the help of iFundWomen are so important to us and our community.  Black women received just 0.27 percent of venture capital in 2018 and 2019. Minorities are too often left behind and lack the space for us to unwind and be served.

You contribution will allow us to expand our reach, provide continuous training for staff, purchase top line product and equipment, and hire full time support.
