Mathnasium of Matthews

Hi, my name is Angela and I am the first black-owned Mathnasium in the city of Matthews, NC, which is about 2 miles east of Charlotte, NC.  My goal is to be able to create educational commitment and job opportunities to a small, yet growing community, for children who are currently struggling with math.

During the age of Covid 19, there have been so many students that have fallen behind in their math studies.  We at Mathnasium are here to help bring those scores back up to “A+” status.  The difference with our training is that we have specialized instructors that help teach the “Mathnasium Method” way of learning.  We use special algorithm techniques that have proven results and testimonials of children learning math and understanding it, in a way that makes sense to them.  We don’t just “tutor” but we teach in a way that makes children understand math clearer than the traditional method of learning and also make it fun. Mathnasium have proven testimonials and results, that our training techniques work!  We have recently ranked #4 in Forbes as the best franchise to buy and fastest growing during the pandemic.  In addition to our training, we also help children with their math homework.

We have over 1000 successful franchises all across the U.S., Canada and a few continents.  With my bringing this opportunity to Matthews, NC (a population of about 45,000), this will give this small yet growing community a chance and opportunity to help children who have fallen behind, especially during the pandemic.  I have recently talked to several parents and they agree that this is a much-needed program, especially in this community.

I am seeking 30k for startup/working capital.  I have been working diligently to find a space, work out an affordable lease plan and now bringing it all together.  I am actively seeking funds to cover my payroll expenses, (as I am currently searching for math instructors), rents, equipment, business supplies and the upfit of the center.  I am currently building my team, in hopes that the person that starts out with me, will be committed to helping me build this new opportunity and educate our children for their future.
