Project Description

  • Mad Color Collective is a ready-to-wear and jewelry wholesale showroom dedicated to furthering the reach of designers of color in the luxury and advanced contemporary retail markets.

    • The public and horrific murder of George Floyd spawned a level of racial awakening that the world had not yet seen. As society grappled with its dark past and murky present, industries responded with well intentioned solidarity campaigns aimed at appeasing consumer concerns of corporate indifference. Specifically, the fashion industry responded with the 15% percent pledge, where retailers pledged to dedicate 15% of their buy to designers of color.

While the 15% pledge is well intentioned, it could be implemented in a stronger way if retailers had a singular place to discover new talent. The Mad Color Collective (MCC) is that place.

    • Mad Color Collective is looking to raise $20,000 to properly show the FW22 collections. MCC will need to rent showroom space, furniture, racks, purchase B2B order technology, as well as have budget for incidentals.

    • Kimberley Brown is the founder and sole member of the team. She is a luxury retail veteran with experience in wholesale, editorial styling, and photography. During the pandemic she decided to learn French!

  • Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Mad Color Collective! Your support is greatly appreciated. Every little bit helps!
