In 2010, I gave birth to my first son. I had gained much weight. For the first 2 trimesters of my pregnancy, I was miserable. After I had my son...I was encouraged to lose weight. I remember my husband getting me a membership to Lifetime Fitness for a weight loss program. I would go 3 days a week and walk on the treadmill with weights. I ended up losing the weight and feeling extremely beautiful.
In 2015, I was pregnant again. At 36 weeks, I had reached my heaviest weight of 220 pounds. My Lord. After the birth of my second son, my weight went down to 200 pounds. However, as of 2109, I was 220 pounds.
I have been depressed for over 2 years. I have lost so much of my confidence. I have lost myself in being overweight. I don't even know how to properly articulate the severe state of mental desolation I've been in. In 2018, I decided to start a weight loss journey. I had a membership with Planet Fitness. I started an Instagram page for my weight loss journey called @FITBY_LENA. However, I got sick and I stopped going to the gym.
Around November of 2019, I had an appointment with my gynecologist. Well...the nurse had to weigh me and your girl was 200 pounds. I was so devastated. How in the heck did I find myself with pregnancy weight? My Lord. I had to do something...and mind you I had started watching "MY 600 POUND LIFE," and I did not want to end up like that. F No!
As of January 2020, I have decided to take a different course and to get some help. I signed up for both Orange Theory and CycleBar to lose weight. I have also revived my fitness page on Instagram and decided to post every day. My daily posts hold me and my followers accountable. I am truly proud of my consistency. I am receiving great feedback from my sisters who are telling me that my consistency is inspiring them to go work out. It's freaking awesome.
Now I want to create a bigger and better platform to inspire more women to regain their power. Yes! Obesity can rob you of so much of your power and your time. I want women to see how it's possible for us all to be who we want and to look how we want to look. It does require work but the ISH is freaking possible. At first you hate it but then...you learn to love the grid.
You see yourself get stronger...fitter...braver! You can see yourself turning into a powerful well sculpted bad ass! I can't describe it but I know it feels so damn GOOD!
So now I have a vision of creating a beautiful community of women who are looking for inspirations in the areas of wellness, health, self care, spirituality and self love. There are so many women in America but worldwide who are looking for motivation, sisterhood, friendship, and a place that makes them feel freaking amazing. I want to provide a blueprint to the women who have lost themselves so that they can start to regain and rebuild their confidence levels. All women should have a place where they are continuously encouraged to believe in themselves and to encouraged to crush their goals.
I have not yet decided on the name of the community...however; I do want us to have a beautiful website full of blog articles, interviews, videos, merchandise and so much more. I want to hire the company https://www.golivehq.co/ to design the website so that the destination won't feel like a sterile website but “your-forever-chill” spot. I love the website that they have designed for https://www.createcultivate.com/ and I want that same experience for all of us.
The website will provide courses that anyone can take and fitness challenges that all fitness levels can participate in. I want to focus heavily on creating digital products that can be streamed and consumed anywhere in the world on-demand. This will enable us as a community to create a "no-excuse-zone." With this community, I believe that all of my sisters will be able to achieve their goals and be so freaking proud of themselves.
I just want to inspire everyone to be BOLD and CONFIDENT AF.
By donating or purchasing the rewards that I am offering, you will be helping me to have the website built by GoLiveHQ. Now I know some might think: Marlene, why spend all that money on a website? And that is a great question...and before I answer...please take a moment to look at the Create and Cultivate website. You will quickly see that it is not just a website but the beauty of the pages creates for a beautiful curated community of ambitious women. I want to have a hive of powerful, driven, ambitious, hard working, health-driven-kind-hearted women.
One thing that I have learned from doing a weight loss journey on my own versus attending LifeTime Fitness, OrangeTheory Fitness and Cycle Bar is that your ENVIRONMENT is everything. If you are somewhere that doesn't motivate you...you will provide mediocre efforts and think that you are doing some serious work. However, when you attend a gym, where you can tell that the founders have thought about every single detail and those who attend give their all in every class...you will bust your ass to not seem like a lazy person. This what I want for the community: a place that makes you feel like you need to step up your game and commit to your goals.
This is a very important lesson that I also had to learn, accept and implement: I can preach all day but if I myself do not look like what I am talking about it makes no sense at all. Hence, the gathering place for the community needs to be a beautiful home. Also, I envision this community being worth millions of dollars and I want people to take it seriously. I want to do interviews. I want to do fitness summits and events. I want to post instructional videos. So I need people to take it seriously and know that I mean business. In 2020, I am not playing any games. If I have a vision...I am hunting it down and accomplishing it.
I need to set a standard of excellence for myself and for everything that is associated with my name. As the community grows, I will expand the team. But I will be taking blog submissions or interviews from great writers who want to contribute to the community.
Thank you so much for helping me to create this community. Shout out to us for working together to help millions of women regain their power for years to come.
