Project Description
- The mission of my company is to provide accounting, tax and advisory services so that business owners can see their way forward.
- We want to remove the administrative burden of running a business and free business owners up to spend more time on the crux of their business.
- There are 97,859 microbusinesses, those with one to nine employees, in the DFW area. This is my target market.
- My company provides accounting and tax services to businesses not large enough to employ their own accounting team. I offer packages that address the accounting and tax needs of these microbusinesses at every stage of development.
- I am seeking funding to help with operating costs in year one of my business. I will spend the money on software, technological equipment and payroll.
- I have two bookkeepers, one tax preparer and one intern on my team.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
L. V. Browne has been a CPA since 1995. She has a bachelor's degree in accounting and a master's degree in teaching.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
L. V. Browne, CPA has been a CPA since 1995. She started out in public accounting and progressively worked her way up the ladder in many types of organization in the accounting function. She now works for herself performing accounting, tax, systems implementation, controllership and consulting work.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with small businesses, service businesses, trucking companies, non-profit organizations, arts organizations, sports organizations, salons, churches, title companies and more.
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
L. V. Browne, CPA wants you to be satisfied with our work. You will not be charged until the job is complete. We are fair with pricing and are very competitive with our rates.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I love doing virtual consultations. I have a document exchange system whereby my clients can upload sensitive documents securely. The system will notify my clients as to needs and progress.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently performed consulting for an arts organization to make sure their by-laws were up to date and to assess their accounting processes. It took approximately 2 weeks from start to finish.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
You need a CPA because CPAs undergo a great deal of training to attain certification and must spend additional time each year obtaining continuing professional education to stay current in the accounting field. They are licensed by the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
You should know whether the professional is licensed in what they do because that shows a certain level of expertise and commitment to the accounting profession.
