Krystal Palace Catering & Personal Chef Services

Krystal Palace Catering, LLC specializes in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean Cuisine and signature world dishes. 

All menu items, spice blends and sauces are made from scratch using traditional recipes. 

My target Catering market consists of clientele seeking a unique, eclectic menu built to trending specifications, and requests for a bright & unique take on  authentic meals such as traditional halal or kosher menus. 

My  Personal Chef services target individuals seeking a custom menu for home, gatherings or events meeting their dietary needs and respect for choices in local and sustainable product.

I have worked in the hospitality and culinary industry for over 16 years as a cook, server, bartender, front and back of house trainer, bar manager, line manager, and chef building a new concept for an established Grand Rapids collection before deciding to go out on my own and build my own business.

Through my  reputation as a chef I offered meals from an outdoors kitchen & dining space for individuals in my community who lost access to dining options during the pandemic. I built a growing clientele which then allowed me to serve my own menus through area Halls and Pop Up Events. My next goal is to establish  a small storefront to feature a small rotating menu while introducing myself and my style of cuisine to potential catering and personal chef service clients.

I strive to utilize local markets to obtain product. As my menu items are from scratch,  I do not need to rely on specific manufactured items from food suppliers.  I depend on order ahead meats and proteins for Halal, locally raised, and sustainable seafood items. 

As of today I have funded my LLC, Health Department Certification for use in a shared prep kitchen, ServSafe Management Certification and startup collection of professional equipment. I recently placed third in the startup food business category in the Michigan Women Forward “Woman Up & Pitch” competition. This allowed funding for the initial steps in securing a space and obtaining industrial equipment.

I will use this crowdsourced funding to pursue the marketing, licensing, necessary inventory and construction of my storefront as well as introduce a  cafe counter concept under my catering brand. This space could also act as a promotional showcase for local artists and vendors to post their services and advertise to the community. I will additionally upgrade some of my catering supplies  that would enable me to heighten the quality of my product and ease of delivery to offsite events and large orders for home. 

With 50.36% of Grand Rapids residents reported as being employed by small businesses, we celebrate a higher than average appreciation for establishing and maintaining connections with independent owners in our communities. This creates an influential connection between a new wave of professionals with an interest in creating trends and  those who are responsible for shaping our culture as early entrepreneurs. I hope to positively impact and influence my community and industry given the opportunity to establish this next step in my career.
