JDV Kindergarten aims to equip our scholars with skills needed to develop their talents, establish a strong academic foundation that prepares them for global opportunities, and grow to be productive citizens that contribute to the prosperity of Haiti. Over 5 million Haitian Youth are unable to access basic education, we are doing our part to reduce the impact that poverty, civil unrest, and natural disasters has had on the families we serve. Our philosophy at Jen Dwe Viv (JDV) is that “ every child has the right to live”. For the past 4 years, JDV actively participates in the advancement of the local education system in Cap Haitian which includes designing curriculum based on the recognized curriculum of Haiti and enhanced with globally accepted best practice such as SEL, CCR, IB, STEM, and Inquiry based approaches. We provide daily instruction for  3 Kindergarten classes, established 21st century educational tools, a scholarship program, created job opportunities, distributed toys, clothes, and food through our various outreach events.

By collaborating with local & international educators, schools, and community leaders, we have been able to expand the pedagogy of 40 local educators and share the many unique ways we are intentionally building the spirit, community, and the beautiful country of Haiti through education. We worked hand and hand with the Mayor & other community leaders to reopen public spaces through our STEM in the park program and Cap Haitian 1st youth festival.
