There will finally be an uplifting place for children of all ages and families of all sizes to play regardless of the weather outside!
Project Description
Hello! My name is Katie Kushnak. I am a wife, a mom to two toddlers, and a sister to four adopted children of different age groups. Growing up there were very few places that my parents could take all six children to that would entertain each age group and even fewer places that were indoors. Living in Florida, it is either HOT or RAINING. Years later with toddlers of my own and two siblings in grade school, there are still limited resources for indoor entertainment. We live in Fleming Island, FL, where majority of the households are families with at least one child. The age gap between siblings has significantly increased. Yet, there seems to only be entertainment for either toddlers or older children. Where is a place for both? For all? Not to mention, the homeschooling population has, also, increased.
Therefore, I am creating an indoor playground and family entertainment center with a cafe. There will be a large playground structure for children 2-12 (ish), an enclosed toddler area for children 0-2, and a separate hangout area for older children, teenagers, and young adults. The hangout will feature games such as air hockey, corn hole, and jenga, as well as music and fun lights. There will be comfy seating for parents to relax and a quiet space for them to work, if needed. The cafe will provide coffee, tea, beverages, and snacks. The entire space will provide a positive, uplifting place for children of all ages and families of all sizes. With that being said, playground equipment and safety provisions are expensive. The Cove Clubhouse LLC will require a building between 3,000-5,000 sq ft with 12-14' ceilings. The playground equipment itself to fill a space between 500-1,000 sq ft is approximately $60,000-80,000 with delivery and installation. I am currently crowdfunding for the amount needed to purchase the building rent, the utilities, the equipment, the furniture, the labor, and the construction costs. The total needed is about $150,000. I have already invested about $70,000 so I still need $80,000. I have the business plan, the financial calculations, a few locations in mind, and lots of support. Now, I just need the funds. Any and all support from you is very much appreciated. Yes, I have applied for loans but have been denied due to the fact that my business has not been up and running for more than one year. I have applied for grants, but again most grants for small businesses require the business have revenue incoming for more than 6 months. I have also spoken to a few investors.
