Hi, my name is Shalimar Williams. I recently opened the doors to Holy Beanz Coffee on Jan 28, 2022.
I know firsthand how life can be difficult outside of prison. So I opened up a coffee shop employing women who have also had a checkered past. Holy Beanz is in the Soul District of Portland, serving love, compassion and hope, in addition to lattes, mochas, all-natural energy drinks and smoothies, as well as grab-and-go breakfast snacks. People need to know that there’s a space where they can come and feel loved and be vulnerable, and maybe they need a resource.
When I opened the doors, I had $10 to my name and no capital to help fund my dream.
