• Clare Kindness' mission is to elevate small business owners and help them be successful by helping them to make kindness their trademark
• Like 97% of all female small business owners, I am having a hard time acquiring the capital needed to launch my business. I have a proof of concept, a successful prototype, and extremely positive feedback from professional, local businesses that I've delivered my workshop to.
• The problem my course for small business owners is solving is that businesses are now losing well-loved employees who are good at their jobs to the great resignation of 2021 and losing customers and revenue in the coronavirus shutdowns. They want to serve customers well and turn them into brand champions. They want to make their best team members feel seen, heard, valued, cared for, and loved, but don't have the know-how. They want to offer a safe, inclusive, and happy place for a diverse clientele, but don't know how to and are so overwhelmed and overworked that it's hard to focus on when in survival mode of making payroll and keeping things running as-is. They do not know that shifting from being nice to being kind will super-boost their earning potential and lower their turnover rate saving them thousands of dollars in needless wasteful costs on talent scouting and training.  
• The solution is to bring in more customers and businesses and retain top-performing employees by making radical kindness your business' trademark. I've run the office at our computer software company for over twenty years and have studied the guests on my show and learned how they have grown their revenue by being kind to their employees, their customers, and their community.  76% of employees are willing to work more hours in workplaces with an empathetic culture. 60% are willing to work for less money.
• The market size in San Luis Obispo is currently 3,000 businesses but with online learning, the scope of my work is not limited to customers in S.L.O. and I have unlimited opportunities to expand my reach! Somebody in Canada could take my course and benefit! Woo hoo!
• *Now* is the time to be proactive in doing everything you can as a business owner to keep money coming into your business and making kindness your company culture is the way to bring in the most growth without having to invest money, only your love and energy.  65% of employees report they're planning on leaving their jobs this Fall. 
• I am seeking funding because like other women I have found many solutions to the challenges of starting a business, but securing funding has not been one of them.  I have found that to borrow the money you first need to have earned quite a bit of money ($50,000 in revenue) and there are not resources for small business owners to get seed money readily available to me. 

I will use the money raised to:

1. Pay fees to establish the business with the IRS ($1600)
2. Uplevel my brand messaging and secure new clients with a professional copywriter ($800)
3. Purchase gorgeous professionally created, story-driven videos (see above video as a reason why hee hee) ($1265)
4. Hire a producer to publish my six unpublished podcast episodes ($990)
5. Continue to "keep my doors open" with the bare-bones tools needed to run my podcast, website, and online course with subscriptions to Zoom ($54/mo.), Blue Host($27/yr.), GoDaddy(127/yr.), Squarespace($215), Quickbooks($299/yr.), Spotify($192/yr.), Apple($119/yr.), Teachable ($1,464/yr.).
6. Run FB ($225), IG ($99), radio ($200), and print ads ($175) for marketing CK to expand my reach, create brand awareness, and build buzz for my products and services.
7. Memberships to 1% for the Planet ($199/yr.), S.L.O. Chamber of Commerce ($265/yr.), Meetup ($39/mo.), and BBB ($850)/yr.
