Who Are We?
Arie’s Confectionaries was born out of my love for all things sweet and a desire to carve out a space for my creations separate from the demanding and limiting nature of my day job in the restaurant industry in Atlanta, GA.
At the start of the pandemic, I moved back home to Augusta, GA. I began experimenting with different cheesecake flavors as a form of therapy, but soon realized there was a need for a specialty cheesecake bakery in the area. So I started selling. People were especially drawn to my personal and bite-sized creations of classic, Southern flavors such as Banana Pudding, Red Velvet, and Peach Crumble that brought to mind their own mama’s kitchens or thanksgiving gatherings.
Why We’re Fundraising:
Even though I am the sole baker, I look at Arie’s Confectionaries as a collective. I’m not sure where I would be without the help from my family and friends showing up to sell and support me at local pop-ups and farmers’ markets, promoting and selling my cheesecakes online, or giving me valuable advice.
However, I long ago reached the point where demand has outgrown my home kitchen and family volunteers. I’m seeking to open a brick-and-mortar location where customers can place orders for full-size cakes or come in to handpick their own nostalgia-inducing box of assorted minis.
Being a minority-owned business has not been easy, and from the start, everything I’ve put into this has been self-funded. Now I’m ready and my customers are ready for me to expand...with your help! To create the community space and sweet shop I envision, I’m going to need funding to secure a percentage of a small business loan to give Arie’s Confectionaries a physical presence in my community.
