About Us

His Garden Naturals is a mother-daughter small-owned business. We formulate organic, natural and vegan skin and hair care products, which are nourishing, healthier and safer to use. Our products also target specific issues such as but not limited to, dry and overly dry skin, scalp and hair, and slow hair growth. Our products are made with natural ingredients-void of harsh chemicals that can dry, irritate and toxify the skin, hair and body. His Garden Naturals were a first line of defense to soothe my daughter's eczema symptoms. We use a holistic approach to formulate skin and hair care, and natural remedies to ingest. His Garden Naturals cater to clients and customers who prefer using products that are eco-friendly and beneficial to their overall health.

• As a certified mental health professional, pastoral counselor and life purpose coach, I am passionate about the aromatherapuetic-effect of using natural products and use them during counseling and coaching sessions. Because, natural unrefined essential oils and butters can serve as effective grounding techniques help individuals feel more present and focused, as well as provide a sense of comfort and stability that calms symptoms of anxiety. Many of our products are infused with essential citrus and minty essential oils, such as our citrus mint body butter, soap, and all-over shampoo. They can have a profound impact on the sensory experience and mood of our customers and clients, while also promoting overall wellness. Zesty citrus scents/oils, such as lemon, orange, and grapefruit, are known for their invigorating and uplifting properties. These are known to help stimulate our senses, increase alertness, and promote feelings of energy and positivity. Minty essential oils, including peppermint and spearmint, offer a refreshing and cooling sensation that can help soothe the mind and alleviate stress and tension. 
• We paused on providing mobile salon naturals hair care services but focus on creating healthy skin, hair care, wellness products and holistic coaching services due to COVID-19. The hair care services did provide extra funds to invest back into the company to create our natural products. This aforementioned dilemma has negatively impacted His Garden Naturals financially to consistently create enough revenue for the purchase of supplies in order to meet higher demand to expedite formulating and package products, cover shipping, hire/pay employees, expand our product line, and pay all business expenses including bills.

People are becoming more health conscious about what they eat, and put on and in their bodies. 1. Health Consciousness: Many consumers are becoming increasingly concerned about the potential health risks associated with synthetic chemicals commonly found in traditional skincare and haircare products. Natural products, often formulated with plant-based ingredients and essential oils, are perceived as safer and gentler alternatives.

2. Reduced Sensitivity and Allergic Reactions: Synthetic ingredients such as parabens, sulfates, and synthetic fragrances can irritate sensitive skin and exacerbate conditions like eczema and dermatitis. Natural products, devoid of harsh chemicals, are gentler on the skin and less likely to cause allergic reactions.

3. Environmental Concerns: The production and disposal of synthetic chemicals used in conventional skincare and haircare products can have adverse environmental effects. Why we are seeking funding

• 1st Purpose:

We need Funding for capital to help us stay in business by being able to purchase supplies in bulk and procure equipment needed to create larger batches of products and fulfill orders more quickly. We need the funding help us scale His Garden Naturals' market presence/exposure, hire employees or contract staff to expedite production, pay overall business expenses so we can stay stocked. Capital funding will allow us to purchase and convert a vehicle (RV/Bus or Airstream) for setting up a mobile shop in order to travel and sell our products at various festivals, markets and expos that promote health and wellness, and continue growing our product line by adding more healthy, medicinal and nourishing solutions. 

• 2nd Purpose: 

We would eventually like to resume with our goal to also provide outreach services through our LESS 4 YOUR TRESSES PROGRAM tailored to serve women who are underserved by providing low-cost or free hair care services to prepare them for job interviews and/or a boost in their emotional status. We planned to link with community organizations who can refer prospective women clients for our services. The mobile vehicle will enable us to travel to various locations near these community programs that help women with temporary housing including safe houses and shelters, mental health, employment and educational services. We would be able to compensate new and seasoned stylists and other wellness professionals who want to offer their talent and skillset.

How we show up

Participating in various events, such as vending in local small businesses, conferences, markets, festivals, and expos, with our His Garden Naturals Pop-up shop allows us to engage directly with our community, showcase our products, and spread awareness about the benefits of using natural, toxic-free skincare and haircare products. At these events, we prioritize creating immersive and educational experiences for attendees, emphasizing the following key elements: Brand awareness, Product demonstrations, Awareness of benefits, Community engagement & Personalized recommendations

Our Current Team of Mother & Daughter

• The owner is Cheryl Y. Howard who is a licensed cosmetologist, a current Behavioral Health Specialist for women who are survivors of sex-trafficking, abuse, homelessness and battle with mental health challenges, Certified Mental Health Professional and Life Purpose Coach. Imani L. Banks is Cheryl’s daughter who is a college graduate and performing artist. Aside from working as an artist, she has a vast experience with serving in outreach ministries, leadership positions as program coordinator, and teaching artist to children. She assist with manufacturing, packaging, social media management, sales at events and modeling for advertising and promotions.

LESS 4 YOUR TRESSES

At His Garden Naturals, we are proud to introduce our Less4Your Tresses program, dedicated to serving underserved women in temporary housing, including shelters and transitional housing. Our program offers free or low-cost hair care services aimed at empowering these women as they transition into the workforce, including preparing for job interviews. We understand the importance of feeling confident and empowered in professional settings, and we believe that a fresh new hairstyle can boost self-esteem and morale, ultimately contributing to emotional wellness. By providing access to quality hair care services, we aim to not only enhance the outward appearance of these women but also uplift their spirits and help them feel ready to take on new opportunities with confidence and dignity. Through the Less4Your Tresses program, we strive to make a positive impact in the lives of underserved women and support their journey towards independence and success.

• Contracting a small team of stylists and students from cosmetology school to provide hair care services for the Less4Your Tresses program is an excellent way to give back to the community while also supporting aspiring professionals in the beauty industry. By partnering with cosmetology schools, we can provide students with valuable hands-on experience and mentorship opportunities, allowing them to hone their skills and gain practical knowledge in a real-world setting. This collaboration benefits both the students, who gain valuable experience and exposure, and the women in temporary housing, who receive high-quality hair care services at no or low cost. Additionally, working with a team of stylists and students enables us to reach more individuals and expand the impact of the program, helping to uplift and empower even more underserved women in our community. Through this collaborative effort, we can create a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone involved has the opportunity to learn, grow, and give back to those in need.
