Have you ever seen a Wig Vending Machine?!

I'll start by saying that if I could go back to the past and tell my younger self that "this" is what I'd be doing, I'd never believe it. I grew up in a very traditional family and did very well in school. I was told that I would go to college and get a good job so that I would always be able to provide for myself. I was the 1st person in my family to go to college, and so I felt that this is just something I had to do. Years later, after finishing school and working in the corporate sector I realized that I just wasn't being fulfilled. I left my job (that afforded me a great salary and security) and decided to chase my passion- hair.

I started my business and vowed to change the way women could embrace extensions and wigs. Usually, there is such a negative "stigma" surrounding it. Most women don't want others to know they're wearing them and others are ashamed because they have to- due to alopecia or other health related issues. I wanted to make that experience fun and give women the space to find their own beauty in a "no judgment" zone. And that is where Simply A Lady Virgin Hair was created. I offer luxury quality hair extensions, wigs, and a myriad of hair/wig care products. My wigs are hand sewn and customized in my store. As a result, all of them are "READY TO WEAR". My clients can literally walk into my store and purchase one of my luxury wigs and walk out wearing it.

During Covid, my business catapulted because salons had to close down due to the health restrictions. However, so many of my clients were essentials workers and still needed a way to look presentable at their jobs. So, I went from making 10-20 wigs a month to making over 100 a month....ALL BY HAND. That's when I truly realized the need for my products and how there was a lack in the beauty industry for natural looking and ready to wear wigs. I wanted to be able to give more women this experience, and built my very own Beauty Vending Machine. I currently have one that is placed at a local mall and carries hair extensions, wigs, and cosmetics. I am hopeful that one day each and every woman that desires will be able to experience just a little taste of "Simply A Lady".

My company has taken off much quicker than I could have imagined. If I were awarded this grant, funds would be allocated to the expansion of the Simply A Lady brand. I would love to able to offer a larger inventory for all of my clients. I would also love the ability to to place additional Beauty Vending Machines in other areas so that I can widen my market.
