Girls in foster care have high rates of sexual victimization, exposure to violence and other maltreatment, and teen pregnancy. And given the lack of gender responsive and trauma-informed services, girls are more likely than boys to be criminalized for acting out in response to trauma, creating a vicious cycle where they do not get the help they need to heal and be healthy and successful in school and beyond. GW's House of Seven was founded to put a dent in that worldly issue.

The GW's House of Seven is in the ground works of being a therapeutic group home for adolescent aged girls in foster care. We will house 10 girls, ages 11-18, who are in the custody of  Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services for up to 180.  During this 180 days, we will be promoting reunification or seeking permanency through an adoptive family. We are able to accept girls from every county in Mississippi. We are located in North Mississippi where we will be the only girls home in the area. The mission of GW's House of Seven is to provide support services and aid to meet the needs of adolescent girls in Mississippi who have identified as at-risk or suffering from abandonment, abuse and/or neglect. Our vision is to lead in the creation of a conducive living environment for young girls who are in the custody of the state.

At GW's House of Seven, we offer 24 hour around the clock care. We provide food, clothing, shelter, and therapy sessions. We take care of school enrollment, counseling, visitations, and  pre-placement visits. We give the girls weekly allowance and take them out on recreational activities & outings.

Not only do we service our girls, we also service our community affected by the Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services.   At GW's House of Seven, we use a curriculum that is designed to be both a prevention and an intervention program that strengthens families that are at risk of becoming (or already are) involved in the child welfare system, have behavioral health challenges, or face other family issues. This program is open to any parent or caregiver in a parenting role who is seeking support, positive nurturing, and parenting strategies regardless of the age or special challenges of their children or youth including severe emotional concerns.

Services include weekly support groups, parent partner services (such as advocacy, kinship navigator services, in-home parenting, and supportive services including linkages to community resources), and helpline services. This program aims to mitigate the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) for parents/caregivers and prevent the occurrence of ACEs for their children and teens. The program also aims to build on the strengths of all family members and enhance family well-being by increasing protective factors through trauma-informed practices.

One of our most popular programs at GW's House of Seven, is our Luggage of Love program. Our Luggage of Love Program provides new or slightly used suitcases, duffel bags, and backpacks for foster children in transition. These bags give a sense of dignity and hope. It is theirs to keep; to own. We donate these bags to the girls that come into GW's House of Seven with trash bags as well as the Mississippi's Department of Child Protection Services.

GW's House of Seven is asking for your support to contribute to the development and purchase of the PERFECT HOUSE to serve and protect the girls in our care.  The house is six bedrooms and three bathrooms, and it is in the ideal location. GW's House of Seven was founded by Domonique Allen, who is a foster mom, teacher, and basketball coach. She is the founder of an online ministry God's Will GW and a youth and adult sport's league, GW's Sports League. She is a rising voice in the community and a children's advocate.
