According to a survey conducted in 2020 by the Tea Association of the USA, around 84% of Americans reported drinking tea in one form or another. Ginger tea in particular, has surged in popularity over the past few years because of increasing consumer awareness of the numerous health benefits. It has become the go-to beverage for Americans seeking a delicious, natural, and refreshing alternative to traditional caffeinated drinks. 

Lauretta’s British Ginger T was established in 2021 with the aim of enhancing the immunity, vitality, and energy of individuals worldwide. Born and raised in London, our founder, Lauretta Nkwocha, loves the British culture of tea drinking. It is a culture that goes back to the 17th century, but is still regarded as a symbol of politeness, hospitality and good manners. What better sign of hospitality than to freely share batches of her unique blend of ginger tea with friends and family?

Since 2014 when she first started making ginger tea to ease her nausea during pregnancy, Lauretta would generously deliver pots of her unique blend to friends during the cold and flu seasons to help ease their ailments. Her unique, proprietary blend of functional ginger teas include ingredients that are scientifically-backed, and historically-proven to have numerous physical and psychological health benefits in both traditional and alternative medicine. 

As a singer on stages across New York and beyond, and an actor on TV screens in the UK and USA, her exquisite brew was an enormous vocal aide to herself and her fellow live performers!!

She believes that we all have the right to thrive…

Now as a small business, at least 2,000 bottles of Lauretta’s British Ginger T  have been sold in the 19 local stores on Long Island where I live, or at my local Farmers Markets. As a "solo act", this entrepreneurial journey is very challenging, but I believe WHOLEHEARTEDLY in the healing power of these drinks; the response I get when doing in-store demos, or sampling at live events, confirms for me that people haven't seen a drink like this on the market. The drinks fly off the shelves!!!!! 

At 50 years old, with 2 young children and a schedule that is reminiscent of a frequent flyer, I can thank Lauretta's British Ginger T  for my good health and vitality. As someone who used to regularly suffer from sinus infections, the last 9 years with this drink as my daily brew is proof enough of its helpful, healthful advantages over anything on the market.

I have received customer enquiries from across the pond and beyond, but right now, my manufacturing process and packaging is very limiting. I need an infusion of cash in order to formulate Lauretta's British Ginger T , and replace the plastic bottles with packaging that is more aligned with helping our planet. 

I am dedicated to producing and selling high-quality, flavourful, healthful, and helpful ginger tea across America and beyond. I am passionate about retaining exceptional taste and uncompromising quality, and therefore, the process of formulation could take 4 or 5 months. During this time, I am determined to raise as much capital as possible from friends, family, and kind strangers, in order to cover the costs of scaling my business, and sharing this "Nature's Elixir" with anyone who interested in pursuing great, long-lasting health....!
