Fragile, Layered Venice as Muse!
1st painting completed for Venice Biennale, route for kids Venice Quest mapped out. Now it's time to officially register and pay the dues!
Project Description
- The mission is: highlight Venice in its beauty, fragility, history
- This is a unique artist quest through Venice: an award winning educator/designer/artist leading you through its secret gems
- Over 600,000 people will see the exhibit during a six month period in person and millions more virtually
- Venice needs to be experienced not as Disney World, but as a living, breathing, delicate city: through its little streets and vendors, through unique experiences only available there
- Funding is needed to secure the entry fee to exhibit at the Venice Biennale, which will include the use of space and FREE entry to all visitors. It also includes all services needed for the creation of the project in Venice such as qualified personnel for installing, handling, maintaining and dismantling the presentation, museum quality lights, exhibition virtual tour, regular audio and video equipment, catalog production, 2 big preview parties, promotion and PR activities, shipping and customs formalities.
- Diana Stelin heads up this project and is partnering up with local vendors on her route, as well as varied non profits dedicated to Saving Venice and promoting its cultural events.

- What is the money for? We have contributed before!
This round of funding covers the entry fee and maintenance of the 7 month exhibit: install and de-install staff, audio and visual guides, preview events and FREE entry to all visitors, shipping and customs, staff to man the exhibit, catalog production and quest/book release for the quest portion of the exhibition. - How far are you with this project? Will it happen?
The 1st large painting is completed. All sketches are done on site. The 2nd and 3rd large scale paintings are being started. The route for the quest is mapped out. Vendors on site are contacted. The research into an engaging childrens' story is about to begin. The production of garments and fabric inspired by Venice is happening this fall.
