Femme Noir Beauty

Femme Noir Beauty is a boutique beauty supply store coming soon to Norman, OK. Founded by 6 black women and close friends, who shared the same experience of struggling to find the proper products for their hair within their college community of Norman. Femme Noir Beauty  aims to create an inclusive environment  where women of color can satisfy their unique hair care needs without straining their limited resources of time, money and travel.

WHY CROWDFUNDING?

Our dream for Femme Noir Beauty is to serve and be a resource for the community around us. What better way to build our foundation than utilizing the community IFundWomen has created. We chose IFundWomen for crowdfunding because of their commitment to provide resources for women of all backgrounds and their businesses. Our business is based on providing space and representation for women of color and the relationship they share with their hair. Partnering with IFundWomen would allow us to further uphold our mission and values and have more exposure to other businesses in the industry.

Femme Noir envisions a welcoming and comforting space that allows our customers to be their authentic selves, while providing reasonable and affordable prices. The funds from our campaign will go towards our real estate, products, marketing, branding, and other startup costs. Our business would combat the poor customer service, racial profiling, and bad shopping experiences women of color have while shopping for hair care needs in Norman,OK and the surrounding areas.

CORE VALUES

Femme Noir, LLC was founded by Zarah Barnes, Chelsie Caldwell, Tyteanah Cravin, Darian Dugger, Briehna Kimbrough, and Kymberly Rodgers. Each of us takes pride in being proud, educated black women, which is the foundation of our friendship. As black women, we saw firsthand how the necessary products for our beauty and hair care needs were almost non-existent in our college town. We all have interest in different areas in the realm of the beauty, in which each of our individual perspectives aligned is what makes our business unique and is how Femme Noir was born. As the founders of Femme Noir we are driven to uphold our Core values of Faith, Empowerment, Multiculturalism, Malleability, Education, Nonconformity, Openness, Integrity and Resilience while serving women of color.
