JOIN US TO #ENDTRANSPHOBIA BY RAISING FUNDS TO CONTINUE TO SUPPORT TRANS, NON-BINARY AND GENDER DIVERSE PEOPLE CHANGE THEIR NAMES, ONE AFFIDAVIT A DAY
Tuesday May 17, 2022 is the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia. Join SKBT & Co to raise funds to support trans, non-binary and gender diverse folks.
SKBT & Co is a new business that provides accessible and cost-effective ancillary legal services. This includes drafting and notarizing affidavits for name changes.
We often provide affidavits to transpeople who want to make their chosen name official for business or professional purposes.
We hope to raise $10,000.00. We pledge to donate half of whatever we make to not-for-profit organizations advocating for social changes for two-spirit, trans, non-binary and gender diverse folks.
The remaining will be used for the businesses start-up costs which include:
- Hardware (office equipment: printers, scanners and ink)
- Software (Gsuite, Calendly Subscription and Adobe Cloud)
- Media Campaigns

- How do Affidavits help trans, non-binary or gender-diverse folks?
Affidavits are legal documents that are sworn or affirmed by an individual representing a set of facts to be true. Usually cisgendered people use documents like birth certificates or marriage licenses to change their name.
Trans people often need a document that shows their name has changed. By providing affidavits for this purpose, we are normalizing the lived experiences of transpeople.
- Who will you donate the funds to?
We will donate the funds raised to JusticeTrans. However, if you donated through the Choose A Donee category, we are giving you the opportunity to let us know about other fantastic not-for-profit organizations doing work to support and raise awareness to issues faced by trans, non-binary and gender-diverse people. If approved, we will donate on your behalf.
