- What is the mission of your company or project?
Project - Education Empowers, Admin Works is a registered for-profit business owned and operated by Rubertha Blackman. I provide virtual/remote general administrative support services, established in June of 2016. It is registered under the corporate governance of the Government of Barbados Department of Corporate Affairs/Intellectual Property, Business Registration No. 23703.
- Describe the problem you are solving.
The healthcare service market is valued at 3.7 trillion USD globally and is projected to grow by 13% annually. The market is outsourced by various healthcare providers and insurance agencies, with India being one of the largest outsource facilities in the world for North American market. Being able to offer healthcare administrative support services to my portfolio would boost Admin Works revenue. I currently hold a degree in Administrative Management; a Diploma in Medical Transcribing and I am registered with Association of Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI) an international governing body. I am seeking funding for bachelor’s degree in Medical Records and Health Information Specialists.

What is the market size/opportunity? Job growth in this field is forecast to grow 20% by 2026 healthcare managers play a vital and important role in this fast-growing industry. They coordinate the execution of medical and health services in hospitals, clinics, private practices, insurance agencies and more. They also have to be experts in the medical industry, making sure the latest laws and regulations are effectively implemented and observed.
- What is your company/product about and how does it solve the problem? Prior to Covid-19 I saw a decline in the area of general administration due to an over saturation in the online market, researched showed that medical administrative services is an emerging growing market. Providing a specialize niche service along with being registered as reputable service provider, would give Admin Works legitimacy in the industry. Healthcare Services Administration market size stood at USD 26,200.48 Million in 2018 and is projected to reach USD 39,913.16 Million by 2026.
- Why are you seeking funding and how will you spend the funding? While I was building the business, I was a tour guide part time, the plan was to use the money earned from that source to pay for the degree. Covid halted the tourist industry and the online sources are but a trickle of what I use to do on a weekly basis. I have been out of work for a year and have exhausted my savings. The money will pay for the degree and cover living expenses while I rebuild the business.
