- What is the mission of your company or project?
- At the dot. Consulting our mission is to change the conversation around education and technology. Our goal is for teachers and students to embrace the technological revolution and thrive, to achieve this goal, we partner with the schools and community to provide ongoing support. We plan to use this facility to help us accomplish our mission, on a daily basis.
- Describe the problem you are solving.
- We believe investing in technology training and education for an organization is a must. Technology has the power to transform the effectiveness of your school organization. That’s where our full-service planning, coaching, and training provide the leverage your school district needs to elevate learning to the next level. We help school districts identify how to use technology to increase academic results. Our tech strategies and planning are effective in increasing productivity, speed, and the effectiveness of your day-to-day operations for your team and provide the tools for students to grow both academically and personally.
- What is the market size/opportunity?
- We will be able to expand our reach to teachers and students in the Charlotte regions and beyond by having our own "home" location. This will allow teachers and students to come to us for projects and workshops and be able to grow and develop in their craft of teaching. In addition, space will also be used to develop virtual content via video and audio using the front room studio.
- What is your company/product about and how does it solve the problem?
- Our company has grown each year to serve more schools and teachers. In addition, we have expanded our services to include three main categories of strategic planning, coaching, and professional learning. And, we are offering products to purchase for schools to use before, during, or after their work with our company. We are changing the conversation around 21st learning and empowering educational communities to embrace and create with the power of technology.
- Why are you seeking funding and how will you spend the funding?
- With the opportunity to have a physical location, we will be able to market the property via emails, social media, and radio show. Dr. Jones, produces a radio show Coding the Future on the VoiceAmerica Network, and will use the platform to market the house for local use and to bring together educators for national virtual opportunities. Using the show homepage, we will use the banner ad space to advertise the company and location rentals.
- Who is on your team?
- As our business continues to grow, we will add in our staff. We currently have 2 full-time employees, our Founder and CEO and our Operations Manager. In 2022 we have plans to add an additional full-time employee, a STEM coach, and a part-time employee, a property manager.

- What is the Dunbar Project?
- We are seeking financial and in-kind support in the rehab of a local property that will be used as a community hub for the dot. Consulting and our Non-profit Dottie Rose Foundation. For the purpose of supporting STEM Education in and around our community.
- What are you doing with this project?
- We are rehabbing a local property to use to support our local teachers and students in the integration of STEM and Computer Science. We will also use this facility to partner with our Non-Profit organization Dottie Rose Foundation to support girls in Tech.
- Are there other ways I can get involved other than financially?
- Yes, we need physical volunteers to help with the rehab of the building. We need help with siding, insulation, drywall, cabinets and trim, landscaping and grading, and final touchups. If you are local to Charlotte and willing to help please reach out to [email protected] for more information.
