Our mission at Melanin Day Spa and Beauty Bar is practice good ethical values while providing quality advanced skincare treatments and services to the community as well as educating about the minority communities about proper skincare and skin cancers and diseases.

We will provide discounted and free continuing education to skincare professionals, host events bringing awareness to skin cancers and diseases in the community, as well as networking and collaborating with other skincare professionals and brands to ensure we are offering services and products that are diversified and for all ethnicities and skin conditions.

Melanin Day Spa and Beauty Bar is a black-owned, female-owned, luxury day spa offering advanced and paramedical skincare treatments, semi-permanent cosmetics, waxing services, and make-up services. We will have amenities such as our VIP lounge; stocked with refreshments such as custom tea blends, detox waters, and occassional horderves for our VIP members, as well as a boutique retail area, beauty bar, and retail parking. It will be the first black-owned luxury spa in Chattanooga, Tennessee and first spa ever in the Highland Park area.

Melanin Day Spa and Beauty Bar is expanding from being a solo Aesthetician operating out of a small studio space to relocating to a 1,875 sq ft space and hiring a staff, so we need help to make our dreams come true. We are needing new facial equipment, extra skincare tools, uniforms, supplies, and more backbar inventory for our added staff. We will also need assistance with purchasing beauty stations, mirrors, supplies, and products for our beauty bar, and industrial shelving for retail area.

Sonita Michelle is the owner and Lead Licensed Aesthetician. She has been practicing aesthetics since 2015 and is the only Dermascope Magazine Ambassador in the city of Chattanooga, Tennesse. She is also a Certified DMK Skin Revision Therapist and Certified Xtreme Advanced Lash Stylist. We are in the process of hiring more staff once the spa is officially re-opened.
