Project Description
Who are we?
I'm Movin' Out! Disability moving assistance aims to help disabled people in Vermont access resources and support in moving. Finding physical help to move from one place to another or even finding the money to afford to do so can be daunting. There are over 9800 disabled people in Vermont and we know that over 40% of the homeless population in the United States has a disability and we want to help!
Where will the money go?
Our first goal is to raise $10,000 to help disabled individuals and families move! We will use the funds mainly to help pay for movers/moving truck rentals/pods, to purchase gift cards to grocery stores, home improvement stores, and other retail stores to ensure the individual or family has everything they need to be successful.
As we expand, we intend to raise enough funds that we can assist in even more meaningful ways through helping disabled people pay for security deposits or first month's rent on apartments and even down payments and accessibility renovation costs for their dream home. But in order to get there, we need your help!
