The Design Database is an online membership-based platform designed as a global community to support Creatives (artists, designers, illustrators, web developers, photographers, writers, architects, etc.) by connecting them with other Creatives, as well as with clients and companies looking to hire. We are designed NOT to be a recruiting agency or typical freelance platform, but as a support system. Our mission is to give Creatives a place to connect and grow within their fields and be successful in the very competitive creative industry.
What makes The Design Database truly different from other freelance platforms is the engaging and supportive community for all. I have created it to be a community for Creatives to connect, support one another, mentor each other, and find inspiration. I have also created a community of other businesses who share the same mission to support Creatives and we have partnered up to provide tools and resources (podcasts, courses, webinars, project management, contracts, etc). We’ve partnered up with truly amazing people and will continue to grow our connections.
On The Design Database platform, you can:
-Apply to jobs by placing bids, allowing you to negotiate your price
-Post your jobs for FREE (unlimited listings) for both full-time and freelance opportunities
-Host your work or link your current portfolio
-Connect with quality clients
-Connect with other Creatives in the community forum
-Sell your work
-Use our partner's drop-shipping service to print and ship your work.
-Check out new courses, webinars, events, podcasts, and more.
-Have access to tools and resources (invoices, contracts, project management, etc.) to set you up for success.
-Use our partner's video-calling feature for on-demand advice from design experts
We want all of our Creatives to connect in the community to make new friends, collaborate, gain mentorship, form partnerships, strengthen your portfolios, and grow in your career. Most Creatives turn to online forums or even go back to school to find this type of connection and guidance. We’re bringing it all here for you!
New freelancers who are just starting out can connect with more experienced Creatives for portfolio reviews and advice on how to price your work properly or which pieces are their strongest to showcase. On the other side, more experienced Creatives who have been in the industry for quite some time may require assistance from the younger Creatives in learning new software or other digital skills. These connections are very valuable and allow for Creatives to become more successful.
SPECIAL BONUS: We DO NOT take commission from our Creatives, so all of the pay earned from that hard work is 100% yours to keep!
The funding raised here will be used for:
-Marketing: To attract more clients and companies to the platform to connect with (and hire) all of the Creatives in the community.
-Growing our team: We will need to expand our small team in order to work as efficiently as possible.
-Expanding our platform: As we continue to grow, our web team will need funding to keep the website running as safely and smoothly as possible. We want to ensure that everyone has a safe and user-friendly experience at all times.
-Building our mobile app: We will be creating an app for The Design Database to provide our Creatives and clients with easier access to the platform.
-All upcoming projects: I have a very big vision for The Design Database and there are so many great places that I can take this with the right amount of funding.
Creative jobs have been deemed “less important” than others and that has caused a lot of Creatives to feel less supported. With The Design Database, that feeling of support will be restored and celebrated. Bringing Creatives together from all different fields and backgrounds allows for true connection and growth and that is magical!

The Campaign FAQs
Is The Design Database only for the U.S.?
No! The Design Database is global. We are very inclusive here! This is why the platform launch date was originally pushed back. We wanted to make sure the platform has different languages and can accept different currencies.
Is The Design Database only for designers?
No! We don’t like cliques. We’re building a community here. The Design Database supports ALL Creatives. You can be a writer, photographer, illustrator, visual artist, and so on. Come one, come all!
Is it only for freelance jobs?
No! Clients are also more than welcome and highly encouraged to post their full-time jobs on this platform as well. There are many clients and companies who are looking for freelancers, but there are also roles that have potential to turn into full-time opportunities.
Are you commission-based?
We are mainly membership-based. For Creatives, we DO NOT take any of your money from your hard-earned jobs. Creatives keep 100% of the money earned from their clients. We only take the price of the packages you have chosen to purchase.
For clients, we only take a very affordable and competitive commission fee of 3.5%.
What are the membership packages and pricing?
We currently offer four membership package options: Standard (free), Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual. Once your free-trial has ended, you will be able to continue on using one of those four packages. The Standard package is FREE to use, but you will have more limited options. For example, you will only be able to apply to five jobs a month. For the paid packages, you can apply to unlimited jobs per month.
The Monthly pricing is $20, Quarterly is $45, and Annual is $180.
Are you a recruiting agency?
No no no no. The Design Database is designed to be a support system for Creatives. Yes, our mission to help people find jobs or team members is similar to recruiting agencies, but that’s really where the comparison ends. The Design Database is so much more than that and our mission goes above and beyond.
