Introducing Damn Right Cocktails: Damn Right Cocktails is providing the consumer exactly what she wants: a great tasting, USDA Certified Organic tequila beverage that also gives back by working to fight education inequality in America. Our product is a tequila cocktail that encourages its consumers to drink right and do right at the same time, because why can't you have a great tasting drink and contribute to bettering society at the same time? Damn Right you can! We are the first of our kind by being both USDA Certified Organic and made with 100% de Agave Tequila and our mission is to donate up to 5% of our profits to non-profits focused on improving access to high-quality primary and secondary school education. We believe equality in America begins with education, which is why we've made this the focus of our brand's ethos.

 

The Problem: Not only is the tequila seltzer market extremely fragmented today, but those products out there have low innovation and quality, and additionally, these brands don't have a strong ethical purpose and have forgotten about social responsibility! Our consumer, the Millennial woman, is willing to spend more on a premium cocktail that has a social purpose, but she is currently not getting this in the market.

 

The Market: Damn Right Cocktails will operate at the intersection of three leading markets: hard seltzer, tequila, and organic beverages. The US hard seltzer market is at $4.5B and grew at a spectacular rate in 2020, with a CAGR of 122%. Tequila is at $4.66B with a CAGR of 10% and the Organic Beverages market size is $6.4B with a CAGR of 16%. Aside from the numbers, there is a huge opportunity in the tequila seltzer space because, currently, there is no "winner". Due to the mission surrounding Damn Right and the product being the first of its kind, l believe Damn Right Cocktails to be that winner in the market.

The Product: Damn Right Cocktails is launching with two flavors: Lime Margarita ("Devil of a Lime") and Strawberry Basil ("Son of a Basil"). Each can is 5-5.3% ABV, certified Organic, gluten free, made with all natural flavors and ingredient, 110-140 calories and uses 100% de Agave Tequila. My co-founder and l spent months tasting, testing and developing these flavors and I'm so excited to share them with the world!

Use of Funds: I'm seeking funding to help support my product launch. Funds will be used for production and marketing.

Team: Myself and my Co-Founder, Mark Lewis. Mark is a seasoned marketer with over 20 years of experience helping develop and grow brands. His most recent role being the CMO at Tres Agaves Tequila.

l come from a family of wine-lovers and have a knack for bartending myself. After graduating from Boston College in 2017, l moved to NYC to pursue a career in the events world. I've always had a passion for giving back and wanted to finally create something of my own. So once Covid hit, l was laid off and decided to finally get to work on my dream of starting my own company! 

Accolades: Awarded a medallion from Blue Lifestyle, a James Beard Award Winning panelist for scoring 91 (Strawberry Basil) and 93 points (Lime Margarita) on our drinks. Gained distribution with Republic National.

Timeline: We are launching at the end of June in Texas and California with our distributor, Republic National.
