Project Description

Historically, hair has been a major part of Black culture, yet traditional beauty supply stores often do not properly reflect that rich history. According to the Beauty Supply Institute, the beauty supply industry is a $15 billion industry with 96% of consumers identifying as Black. According to Mintel, in 2017 alone, Black consumers spent $2.54 billion on hair care and we believe that the beauty supply stores that these consumers frequent should reflect the passion and cultural pride they have for their hair and provide the premium shopping experience that they deserve. This is the inspiration behind For the Culture Beauty Supply.

For the Culture Beauty Supply is a brand that celebrates the beauty and versatility of Black hair by providing the products and resources necessary to love and care for it. Through our brick & mortar location, online store, and mobile app, we specialize in natural hair products and protective styling solutions. Our physical location features a full salon, nail tech, and DIY Hair Oil and Butter Bar. With an open, vibrant space, and knowledgeable beauty advisors providing excellent customer service, we are far from your average beauty supply store.

MISSION STATEMENT
It is our mission to celebrate Black culture through the beauty and versatility of Black hair by providing
the products, services,  and education necessary to empower our community to embrace their natural
texture.

With our business we are not only providing Black women with hair products and services, we are also giving our community a positive example of Black ownership. We are showing our children what is possible and we are raising the bar for the beauty supply industry overall.
