Creativity After COVID-19

Gemelli Films Incorporated is a female-run production company based in Brookhaven, NY. While all of our decision-makers and influencers are women, we employ all individuals on our projects. In 2019, we produced five films with a holiday theme. We were set to film eight more movies in 2020, then COVID-19 hit. The entire world essentially shut down, let alone production companies.

It has been reported in the entertainment trade magazines and websites that filming will not start up again until 2021. This means that there won't be any new content for audiences until later in 2021. However, it is our belief that new content can indeed be created without violating social distancing rules that are in place, especially in New York and California. 

There will be a worldwide shortage of new and original content. Big studios don't like to compromise when it comes to the amount of crew and cast that they use. The truly believe in the saying, "bigger is better." They are under the (very wrong) impression that independent film companies will not be able to compete with them.

We at Gemelli Films think outside of the box and create films and series with a high production value on a shoestring budget, working with a small cast, small crew and few locations. However, our films still appear as though their budgets were hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Now is the perfect time to create new content, while the big studios sleep and strategize what they will do for 2021. The Gemelli Films team will be able to produce and release a film by the end of the year with a total budget of $30,000. We already have recognizable stars ready to work with us, not to mention one of the best production crews in the independent film industry. 

Our team includes award-winning writer/director Candice Cain, director of photography Jessica Papayiannis, production designer Juliette Marotta, executive producer Amy Minter, script advisor Nicole Mullaney and many more talented people. Together, we have already created five films since April 2019. We are a strong and cohesive team.
