Project Description
Lavender Rain Emporium was originally created as an online marketplace to showcase my unique creations and products, but I quickly realized I wanted to create something more then just an online store, so I created Inspire to Gather. Inspire to Gather is a website devoted to connecting artists from all walks of life with the everyday consumers. Over the years it has become a place to share ideas, stories, and inspiration. Now, I am looking to expand into a brick and mortar space where I can bring together creativity and the community. With the funds raised I will be able to create Lavender Rain Emporium and Creative Workshop. It will be a space in Wilmington, NC that encourages art, community, and empowerment through hands on experiences. Artists will teach classes and workshops geared towards mental health and empowerment. Pop-up events will bring together the community and the retail space will provide local artists the opportunity to get their art into the hands of the public.
What is Lavender Rain Emporium? Lavender Rain Emporium is a creative workshop and retail space promoting empowerment, positive mental health, and creativity in the community.
Creative Workshop
Lavender Rain Emporium plans to host several classes a month to allow the community the opportunity to explore different art mediums taught by local artists. The workshops will be more immersive and highlight how art heals mental health and can help to overcome trauma such as divorce and abuse. Some workshops will even involve financial planning, small business topics, and women empowerment. These workshops will mix in a variety of artistic techniques that help individuals move through their emotions, struggles, and accomplishments.
Art can help heal trauma, mental health issues, physical aliments, and more. We want to educate the community on the importance of incorporating art into our everyday lives. Being able to express emotions, let out trauma, and free yourself of any mental burdens through different art mediums allows for healing.
Retail Store
The retail store will allow local artists to sell their creations to the community. Artists will pay a small monthly fee plus 20% commission to sell their products in the store. The monthly fee goes towards the monthly rent as well as managing their inventory, displaying their products, and processing transactions. The commission fee will be used for community outreach events and workshops. The retail store also provides a space for pop-up events such as artist meet and greets, product launches, and community outreach.
Community Outreach Rental Space
If we are able to lease the desired property then we plan to offer additional space for community members to rent. Desired businesses we are in search of, are, yoga practitioners, massage therapists, intuitive readers, and local coffee and/or retailers. Having additional rental space allows for more community outreach and growth. We want to support other small business owners and create a space for everyone.
Lavender Rain Emporium will not only be a retail space but a community space.
Who is Lavender Rain Emporium?
I am Julie Marie, the creator of Lavender Rain Emporium. I am an artist, visionary, and mother of two who has long been searching for her purpose. I have created and sold a multitude of products over the years, from hand sewn purses and clothing to costumes and upcycled unique home goods, but I’ve always wanted more then just creating and selling.
I’ve recently battled severe mental health issues as well as navigating the waters of divorce and along the way discovered how much art and creating have helped me through these troubled times. Which is why I want to bring Lavender Rain Emporium to the community. I want a welcoming space for all people no matter their gender, race, mental health status, or limitations to learn new creative skills from talented local artists and share their stories and talents with the community.
The Lavender Rain Emporium team is also comprised of other incredible, talented women who support this dream. Women who each bring something unique and wonderful to the company. One woman in particular who will be Lavender Rain Emporium's business manager is Kelly Fiske. She has been a huge source of support and motivation in helping me to realize and achieve my dream. She to has also faced recent struggles and hopes to some day create a non-profit that goes hand in hand with our company.
The ever growing Wilmington population has a rich artistic community in need of a space like Lavender Rain Emporium. Sure there are other art studios, art communities, and retail stores selling local art, but Lavender Rain Emporium will combine retail, classes, and therapeutic arts and lifestyle growth under one roof.
Funding
I am seeking funding to turn my dream into a reality. With your contributions I will be able to open up Lavender Rain Emporium to the Wilmington, NC community. Funds will be used for leasing the desired space, acquiring permits and licenses, paint, flooring, displays, storage, office equipment, pos system, and a grand opening celebration.
And, any funding received over $35,000 will be used for continual growth, such as the online retail store and community outreach events. The online store will allow the Lavender Rain Emporium artists to sell their work world wide, thus spreading the message, Art is Magic, Together We Heal!

The Campaign FAQs
When will my reward ship?
We will begin shipping rewards the middle of January 2024, but we will keep you updated for any delays. T-Shirts, sweatshirts, totes, and water bottles may take a little longer to ship depending on our supplier, but all rewards will be delivered by the end of March 2024.
Can I pick up my rewards rather then have them shipped?
Yes. If you are local or will be in the area we can arrange a time for you to pick up your reward. Simply email [email protected] to let us know you would prefer to pick up.
When can I use my gift certificate?
Gift certificates may be used as soon as Lavender Rain Emporium has officially opened their doors (spring 2024). If the online retail store is open sooner then you may use your gift certificate online. We will notify all reward members of this feature once it becomes available.
I live out of the Wilmington, NC area and would prefer a gift certificate then receiving a membership?
Not a problem. Certain rewards allow for the option. Either select the gift certificate reward or leave a note in the message to entrepreneur that a gift certificate is preferred.
Antonymous donations: If you do not want your name or business shared on the supported page or social media shoutout then please make a note in the message to entrepreneur.
