Combating Social Isolation

• What is the mission of your company or project?

Providing culturally sensitive programming and services for older adults that support well-being, belonging, and fulfillment through personalized, easy to use hardware to the under-served to ensure support in physical and mental well-being in our aging community. 

We are invested in growing the software part of the personalized tablets to help with on on-demand mental health support for not only the older adult community but for all generations. 

• Describe the problem you are solving.

Even though 1 out of 4 older adults feel lonely and isolated; there is a serious lack of resources that are being focused on this growing mental health issue. Adding lack of assistance in basic needs, we have tested in connecting older adults to reliable resources that are tailored to the individual needs. 

We are specifically looking adding diversity in culture and language to the program and software that with enable broad reach to severely under-served Hispanic and Asian population. 

• What is the market size/opportunity?

Our market size and constituents are low-income, isolated, and under-served senior citizens in the Austin area.  By testing out with our trusted partners will help ensure expansion and serve the greater community. 

• What is your company/product about and how does it solve the problem? 

We believe in culturally proficient solutions to ensure well-being of our community.  By having language accessible solutions will help support the mental health of our older adults through programming and easy to train and use technology access. 

• Why are you seeking funding and how will you spend the funding?

With this funding, we can expand our outreach to further serve low-income, under-served, culturally diverse population that gets left out of mainstream funding. Beyond basic needs, the value of mental health in our community is important, which directly is a prevention mechanism. The funding will go directly to build the software piece for the two-touch professionally attainable mental health providers and get the appropriate hard-bounded hardware to the senior.  

• Who is on your team?

Led by an engineer turned social-worker; we have a dedicated team of women-owned, minority, social entrepreneurs that are longing to make a difference to the community.
