A Child's Journey Daycare Program! 

My name is Krystal Rivera and I am the founder of A Child's Journey Daycare Program Inc. I am a mother to two special boys, an educator, a wife, and a woman with a dream. I am a certified teacher in New York holding a Master's Degree in Early Childhood and Special Education Birth to 2nd grade from Touro College. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Lehman College. I was born and raised in the Bronx by a Puerto Rican family. My passion for teaching began when I became a new mom to a special boy. I had no clue what I was doing or how to raise a boy with such special needs. I decided it was important for me to learn how to better myself as a mom for this child. My interest sparked in the education field once I realized how important teachers were in my son's life and the strategies, they used to help develop the minds of our next generation.  I have been teaching special needs children for 6 years in the school system and believe it is time for me to continue my dream and build a child care center. I then open A Child's Journey Daycare Program Inc. in my home. Here is were I serve children ages 6 weeks - 12 years old. We are a Licensed Group Family Daycare Program in the Bronx. We are a growing business and are looking to continue to grow into a larger daycare center. At A Child's Journey Daycare Program, we provide the children in my community with a fun, safe, and beautiful program where they learn and receive academic success using play. 

A Child's Journey Daycare Program Inc. is a home daycare program that caters to families in low-income communities. I want to design a center for children that is bright, fun, and can accommodate their individual needs. A Child's Journey Daycare Program will like to provide more children in areas where daycare is scarce with learning experiences including sensory play, technology, science, art, music, imaginative play, and gross motor movement activities. More children will have a place where they can use their imagination and become who they want to be. Families will be invited and communication will be welcomed.

The developing minds of our children will soon be the leaders of the world and because of this their early education is a valuable foundational stage. With this fundraiser, I will be able to occupy a space, design the interior with bright colors, provide appropriate furniture for the classrooms, renovate, and train my teachers for success. Many child care centers have children mixed in classrooms or spaces that are not focusing on their developmental level. At A Child's Journey Daycare Program Inc., each room will be designed for the children's appropriate age, skill, and needs. A Child's Journey Daycare Program Inc. will provide families with daily reports using an application and instant access to pictures for their children in action. The parents will not need to worry when their child ate, interacted with peers, or had a change in diaper as they can easily use our parent application to see their child's day.  

The childcare business has been impacted significantly during this pandemic and many working families have been struggling to obtain childcare or afford it. Many areas in New York are considered "desert areas" being many daycares have closed down or are not enrolling. This is why A Child's Journey Daycare Program needs expansion in these struggling communities. It is our goal to continue to open daycare centers where many children are without a program and losing the opportunity to gain their foundational education skills needed to succeed. We will work with the families to support their needs and schedule while we will be offering different schedules for child care. Governmental programs will also be accepted to help those families who can not afford tuition. 

I understand that a new business venture may contain many hurdles and challenges but as an educator, a driven woman, a mother, and an entrepreneur with the heart to serve children, I know A Child's Journey Daycare Program will be successful. We will be able to change children's lives everywhere and provide families with the ability to return to work knowing their child is safe. Families and children are the soul and success of the childcare business. I am confident that A Child's Journey Daycare Program will be successful and become one of the best child care centers for children. I believe we can support many families during this time and wish to reach other families in different states with a franchising program. Families and A Child's Journey Daycare Program Inc. will work together to obtain the ultimate goal for the children.
