Project Description

Here's our Challenge

Scamming in construction is a serious issue overall but for women the problem is much more serious. We want to be a resource, creating/providing tools and knowledge to make women LESS susceptible. The first part of my goal is to reach women who have a strong interest in improving their portfolio in the real estate market. Particularly single women who have been scammed out of hundreds of thousands of dollars attempting to invest in themselves and their community.

Secondly, the city of New Orleans’ housing market has not fully recovered from Hurricane Katrina and Ida and there is a limited supply of available energy efficient housing.  The need for development and renovation within the city is massive.

Our Solution

Nobles Estates. We are a real estate development and advising group who strive to ensure the following:

  1. The development of long-term energy efficient, sustainable, real estate in local communities with a reduced carbon footprint.
  2. Provide mentorship and consultation in the purchase, renovation, and ownership in real estate looking to expand their financial portfolio.
  3. Create a centralized hub for local small businesses of various specialties in the construction space by cultivating respectable   relationships with local vendors and contractors.

We will not only to assist and help create energy efficient homes available for long term or short-term rental in all communities, but also advise women of all ages investing in real estate by providing them with pre-vetted independent small contractors angel contractors, as well as resource smart thermostats and other energy saving devices, even EV charging stations.

Why do we need funding?

Since the start, Nobles Estates has been a one-woman show.  We have come to IFundWomen looking for supporters to help us grow our audience, increase our visibility, and catapult us to the next step in our journey.  Your support will primarily allow us to hire additional resources, particularly to support website development and marketing to further our reach, as well as to help us continue putting together well curated and successful events for our members and guests.  Additionally, your support will allow my women owned business (myself, along with 2 other women) to complete our newest project.  This project is two 3 bedrooms; 2-bathroom property located in the Broadmoor area of New Orleans.  We are seeking grants to finish investment properties

By supporting Nobles Estates, you're supporting many small businesses. A big part of what we do is find ways to collaborate and promote other minority owned businesses through our programming, workshops, artisan and vendor selection.

The Founder

Aaliyah Shareef, Founder

My name is Aaliyah Shareef. I completed my first project in 2018, of which I was scammed by a contractor losing more than 40k of un-recouped money.  I decided two things, 1) to not let that experience deter me from becoming successful in real estate and 2) to become more hands on in my future projects by learning the necessary aspects of a successful renovation.

Thank you for supporting Nobles Estates!

Your funds help us continue strengthening the community through connection, building, and learning.

The Campaign FAQs

What do you do again?

  • We are a woman's owned real estate development and consultant company.  We strive to ensure the following: 1) The development of  long-term (sustainable/energy efficient) real estate for local community. 2) Real Estate and renovation consultant/mentor  of single women looking to expand their financial portfolio with a reduced carbon footprint. 3) A centralized hub for local small businesses to work for economic development

Why did your business idea come to life?

  • Single women are making more money and becoming more educated than their male counterparts. And although it seems like the grass is greener on the other side, there is still a power dynamic [with males] that is hard to overcome.  I am a single woman who has a strong interest in my community and real estate. I completed my first project in 2018, in which I was scammed by a contractor losing more than 40k of un-recouped money.  The contractor made a mad dash and suffered no consequences.  I decided to become more hands on in my project learning all necessary aspects for a successful renovation while advising friends and family along the way.

How much are you trying to raise?

  • We are trying to raise $20,000.

How soon do you need to raise the money?

  • As soon as possible!

What will you use the money for?

The money gained from the grant will complete a product.  This product is two 3 bedroom; 2 bathroom property located in the middle of the city.   This will help drive economic development to local small business as well as the establishment of long-term living for local community.  Budget includes the below:

  • Labor only (local vendors, contractors of minority owned businesses)
  • Website build out
  • Client recruiting, advertising, conference participation etc.

My goal is to continue to build and cultivate relationships with local vendors, contractors.  My business will not only create energy efficient homes in underserved communities available for longterm rent, but also consult young women looking to invest by providing them with vetted contractors (EV charging, smart thermostats, energy saving devices), angel contractors and more.  We are seeking monies to finish investment properties while building trust and relationships with developers and contractors.

How will this help the community?

There are so many ways in which my company will support and build the community.

  1. There is a deficit of long-term rental units in the city of New Orleans.  We will supply and encourage all mentee's to offer sustainable and long term rental opportunities to the city of New Orleans.
  2. There is also a struggle with finding homes that are energy efficient enough to withstand high energy bills, reducing your carbon footprint.  We will ensure that all homes participating in our program meet energy efficient requirements working close with EnergySmart here in the city.
  3. Consultation and mentorship will continue to drive the buying and developing of real estate by women, particularly single woman who have one income and want to invest in themselves as well as the community.  We will align with strategic partners (contractors, real estate agents, 3rd party vendors) to ensure that these women are not scammed and are treated fairly in a male dominated industry.
