Project Description
Ok Own It Beautiful, What's Your Deal?
The Own It Beautiful Program’s Mission: To help adults conquer their anxiety and overwhelming emotions in a fun, entertaining, and engaging way and to do it more quickly than it takes to get into a mental health professional and at different price points.
According to the NIH (National Institution of Mental Health), 45% of Adults age 18-44 suffer from some sort of anxiety disorder and the climate of 2020 has made it worse. Data released from Mental Health America stated that in September 2020 Anxiety screens were up by 634% from January 2020. 634%!!!!
And here is the deal, the ADAA also states that “only about 36.9% of those suffering receive treatment”. Not to mention right now there is a serious shortage of Mental Health Professionals, GoodTherpay has estimated there are 30 psychologists for every 100,000 people in the U.S. Not to mention, wait times to get in to see a mental health professional can take months.
We want to note that Mental Health Professionals are extremely important and can be a necessary part of many people’s health and wellness team. AND, given the increasingly long wait, the increasing shortage and burnout of mental health professionals, and the escalating stress levels of today’s adults (which is not going down any time soon) we at Own It Beautiful believe we can do our Mental Health Professional Buds a solid and start conquering anxious habits and overwhelming emotional behavioral patterns at home while we are waiting to receive care.
Recent research has shown that some anxiety patterns are really a habitual response (which means it can be changed!). Dr. Jud Brewer for example is one of the trailblazers of dismantling anxiety and overwhelming emotional habit loops.
Founder and Coach Kenzie Watters chose the word conquer because it literally means to overcome and take control of. Like all of our emotions anxiety and stress certainly have their purposes, so we don’t want to (and can’t) get rid of it altogether. We can, however, absolutely create practices and healthy habits to be in control of our emotions, be conscious of our reactions, and live on purpose.
That’s what the Own It Beautiful Program is all about (Plus lots of swearing, dry and awkwardly charming humor, and what is any program without some bomb ass swag ((Ok, if it’s a good program you don’t really neeeeeed swag, but come on who doesn’t like some swag?!))
*Nods Head* Legit, Ok What's Kenzie's Deal?
Kenzie is the Founder of Own It Beautiful. She has been dealing with her own anxiety for over 20 years (she was a very anxious child) She finally developed a method that when practiced, helped to get her out of panic attacks and overwhelming emotional reactions (I.E. Anger and Melt Downs). The method is comprised of 4 key parts, that not only get you through tough emotional triggers in the moment by science-backed techniques and tools but also helps to dig into the triggers and dismantle them. It is a practice, meaning like anything the more you practice it the more it works.
A lot of the tools have been found by researching and Interviewing experts (all resources credited of course ♥️) where some have just been through trial and error of spending a lifetime of believing that paranoia and anxiety were her superpowers (Spoiler: They toats weren't).
The tools, techniques, and practices within the method are science-based and more are being added all the time! We are not static, neither is science so our practices shouldn’t be either. The Own It Beautiful Program is the beginning framework for the method, a breakdown of how and why it works, and how it can be implemented and will be added to over time as new research, ideas, and best practices come to life.

- Videography and Photography (Kenzie can draw, paint, and journal-like there is no tomorrow but between You and Me…Videography, not her thang)
- Cold Brew Coffee, not gonna lie, there will be a lot of Cold Brew Coffee Purchased
- Editors and Professional peeps who are better skilled at spelling, grammar, and layout design than Kenzie. I mean, being better at spelling and grammar doesn’t take much but hey everyone has their zone of genius!
- & Additional Resources that are needed to reach and make a positive difference for those suffering or have someone they love suffering from anxiety and emotional overwhelm. You’re going DOOOOWNNNN anxiety! We gunna put you in yo place biotch!!!
