The B.O.S.S. Membership Program...A CoWork Space

B.O.S.S. stands for Business Owners Service and Social which is located on Brainerd Road.

The B.O.S.S. Membership Program's mission is to provide a workspace that supports new and existing businesses with growth. We want to provide:

A community that

• Supports underserved communities of small business through cross-marketing and referrals
• Fosters growth and engagement
• Provides education and resources from the surrounding academic institutions

The Problem

Many small business owners do not have support in growing and while working at home. With CoVid, the entire family could be working from home.  That is not the environment needed in order to grow a healthy business.  Therefore, the B.O.S.S. Membership Program provides:

• Opportunities to network with like-minded business owners
• Access to supportive services such as fax, copier and meeting areas
• A receptionist to assist with copies, scheduling and receiving visitors
• Classes and educational sessions that support continual learning.
• Business mentorship and coaching
• Access to reliable resources and discounts to places where business ownership is celebrated

Target Market

Although the building is located in a bustling location with over 57K cars traveling through each work day, there are no coworking spaces within 10 miles of our facility.

Our target market consists of small business owners who live in underserved areas and are working from home or those who do not have an office space so they work in coffee shops or in their cars.

The Solution

The B.O.S.S. Membership Program provides a community of like minded individuals who are seeking to work in an environment that helps them to grow.  We will three distinct payment plans.

• Stimulate Plan: Costs $25 per month with a minimum of six months. It allows members to access the virtual content library  and training. Allows 10% on events and preferred vendors.
• Motivate Plan: Cost $125 per month with a six month minimum. It allows members 10 business daytime hours at the facility and 20% off events and preferred vendors.
• Elevate Plan:  Cost $250 per month with a six month minimum. It allows 24/7 access to the facility. Members receive 25% off all events and preferred vendors.

Day passes are available at $25 per hour or $75 for up to 4 hours.

Location:

We have chosen 3529 Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, TN 37411 as the location for the cowork space.  This location is central to downtown, when heading west, or Hamilton Place Mall when heading east.  The building is on a bus route and has eateries nearby.

We have a building with seating and some equipment. It is 2,800 square feet of usable space.

The building, built in 1971, has some dated furniture and fixtures, so we need to update it to make it more appealing to the eye and more functional for our plans.

Our Team

Linda Murray Bullard is the 51% owner of the project. She owns LSMB Business Solutions. Her company was established in 2013 after she lost her 26-year career. She brings her business acumen along with her training and startup experience. She has three business degrees and is a certified project management professional. She also brings her global network to the venture.

Stan Brown is the 49% owner of the project. He has over 30 years of experience in real estate. He owned Success Realty for 15 years before the housing market crash. He has been an entrepreneur for over 40 years. He brings his business acumen and vast business networks to the venture.

Issac Espey is the marketing manager. He brings his social media marketing acumen and computer programming knowledge to the venture. His specializes in websites, social media marketing and client attraction.

The Need

The monies raised from this and other funding sources will go toward the $160,000 in renovations to bring the building up to code and to make it more appealing. The necessary updates include

• Cost for a design of the building that allows for easier flow of traffic             $ 160,000
  • Reconfiguring the inside walls, adding windows, updating the plumbing and wiring, painting the paneled walls a lighter color, updating the outside eaves and signage, repaving the parking lot                                                    $100,000
  • Updating furniture                                                                                      $  25,000
  • Updating IT and AV Equipment                                                                $  30,000
  • Design and updated blueprints of building                                          $     5,000

Monies from this fundraiser, when specified, will be used in that particular area. Otherwise, general funding will go to provide building upgrades in wiring and/or plumbing.
