Our story started with a mental breakdown while in graduate school. It was the most I ever felt exhausted physically, mentally and emotionally. It was accompanied by sleepless nights, excruciating headaches, and self-doubt. It was one of the lowest points of my life and I thought to myself, "this can't be it for me, I have so much more to give apart from being in school." It was that day that I realized the importance of self-care to combat stress and anxiety. This is how Body and Mind Spa came to fruition.

For this reason, our mission is simple. We are creating an environment that emphasizes the importance of self-care by providing luxurious spa treatments.

Our Journey

The Origin of Body and Mind Spa began in 2021 during my Cell & Molecular Biology Program at The University of Texas at Dallas. During this time was the most I was stressed and filled with anxiety. It was like my brain was constantly moving at 100 mph. I began coming up with methods to relieve stress, some of them being eucalyptus bubble baths, CBD gummies, and nature walks. None of these seemed to help so I thought to myself "I wonder if anyone else is going through what I'm going through?" So I decided I wanted to create an outlet for people to relax and get rid of their worries. I didn't know anything about running a business, but I knew I wanted to help people deal with stress.

As I learned more about the industry, it became clear that my misson and values would determine the success of Body and Mind Spa. I started my business all on my own and spent months researching and utilizing free resources to stay educated. One of those resources was the Small Business Development Center in Lewisville. I started working with my mentor, Lori Logan, to attain all the licenses I needed to get my business off the ground. I launched my business in May of 2022 and took the time to really study our target audience. This is how we were able to determine our clients' needs. We now have our full-time location at The Castle Hills Village Shops & Plaza, in the middle of a shopping center.
