- What is the mission of your company or project? Black Smoke Box mission is to introduce the African American cigar community to premium black owned cigar, wine and spirit brands. The expectation is to increase awareness and drive more business toward established brands that are being overshadowed by brands that have been in their perspective industry for hundreds of years
- Describe the problem you are solving. Increasing visibility, market position, sales and recognition of black owned brands that are otherwise overlooked in their prespective lanes due to the number of years they have been in the market.
- What is the market size/opportunity? The cigar industry is a $10 million dollar industry with over 1 million cigar smokers and 40% of them in the African American community. The wine and spirits industry is a $350 million dollar industry.
- What is your company/product about and how does it solve the problem? It is a subscription for cigar smokers but the subscriptions boxes can also include a full bottle of wine or spirit or a full bottle of wine or spirit plus accessories and discounts. There are 3 options to subscribe to.
- Why are you seeking funding and how will you spend the funding? I am seeking funding to purchase the first round of boxes, which I am estimating to be at least 50 boxes. In addition to purchasing the items that go in the boxes, marketing and pr, shipping and other unexpected expenses.
- Who is on your team? I am the primary person on my team, I have a marketing firm that I am working with. The marketing firm is familiar with and has worked with other subscription services as well as once production starts I will employ individuals to help with the packaging process.

Frequently Asked Questions:
- How will you keep the cigars fresh? All cigars will come wrapped and there will be a humidor fresh pack in each box.
- How many boxes do you expect to ship? For the first one to six months we expect to ship out 50 boxes per month.
- How will you maintain quality if there is an increase in orders? I have already spoken to and inquired with a company that can take over the receipt of materials, packaging and shipping process. The amount that I am fundraising for will allow the costs to be covered should the results be higher than expected.
- When do you plan to launch? The website will launch May of 2022. We will start taking pre-orders September of 2022 and the boxes will start shipping November of 2022.
- How will boxes be shipped? All boxes will be shipped via FedEx or UPS. The box it self will ship inside of a standard brown shipping box and will all have tracking numbers with an expected 2-3 business day arrival period.
