We want to provide ten (10) residents with a scholarship into the apprenticeship program.  

Program Design

Our Apprenticeship program uses a human-centered design to cultivate an apprenticeship program that can provide financial support for under-resourced families while training and certifying adults and youth in medical and IT-related education. To take it a step further, we facilitate a curated apprenticeship experience where we monitor, mentor, and assess an adult or youth's progress for 6 to 11 months (depending on certification received) to ensure that the individual is cared for, trained, and tailored into a professional with lived experience.

Participants will undergo workshops that will include financial management, economic stability, mental health, and critical societal factors hindering physical health, mental health, and sustainability. Through our workshops, TPAAC seeks to gain an in-depth understanding and knowledge of the community's needs through peer-to-peer-based dialogue, which is also serving as a cathartic release method. TPAAC assumes responsibility for raising awareness.

Our partnering organizations will be providing skill-building workshops to our program participants.

Problem Addressed:

• ISSUE: (DATA USA) 16.6% of the population for whom poverty status is determined, 46.7k out of 281k people live below the poverty line, a number that is higher than the national average of 12.8%, and 25% of the children lived in poverty in Clayton County. If the poverty threshold for a family group of four, including two children, was US$26,200, about $72 per day. Then, there were many families considered above the poverty threshold.
• ADDRESS: In Clayton County (AREA), we can improve these conditions by providing an economic bump.
  • Youth: If a junior and Senior HS student (TARGET POP.) makes $15,000, it will provide economic support for near-poverty families while increasing education and employment.
  • Adults: $15,000 as financial gifts are not taxable income. Therefore, adults can maintain current government assistance and benefits while developing a pathway to economic stability. 

Target Population: 55,000+ residents
