Project Description
SMAC goal for this campaign is to raise the funding needed to open our doors and be fully equipped to provide residential housing to homeless young males in Cincinnati, Ohio in our community of Avondale.
The market for affordable housing for young males in Cincinnati Ohio is over whelming, according to https://www.shelterhousecincy.org/homelessness/ in 2020 the number of homeless individuals under the age of 25 were 643. Not to mention the devastation COVID-19 has unleashed upon the world. It is vital that we make a change in our community to provide the resources and support needed to become our future leaders.
SMAC is a non- profit residential facility that will provide a safe and affordable living environment for homeless men. Tools, resources and education will provided by Sista's Making A Change to aide them during their transition into self supporting adults. By doing so SMAC will:
- Reduce unduplicated youth becoming homeless for the first time.
- Decrease overall youth homelessness.
- Increase youth exiting homelessness into permanent housing.
SMAC is seeking funding to help with closing cost on dwelling, inspection fees, furnish the home with furnishings, household items, computers, Bed and bedding for residents.
SMAC was founded by a mother and daughter trio who partnered to make a change in their community by providing affordable residential housing for homeless young males.
Sista's Making A Change outreach program will provide services that will be individualized to the resident need. Here's a little info about our Management Team.
Carliss M Green, Co-Founder, Administrative Assistant & Marketing & Developing
20 Years of working in the field of Chemical Dependency, 24 years in recovery. Servicing individuals with diverse background ranging from Young Adults 18 years of age and older . Holds an BSW degree in Social Work. Current Role: Information Management & Information Technology Administrative Assistant
Marie D Green, Co-Founder & Director
12 years of experience in working in the Mental Health field ranging from children, adolescents, and adults . Holds a MSW and LSW in the Social Work Field. Current Role: Clinical Supervisor
Shawna M Green, Co-Founder & Residential Manager
8 years of experience in working in the Mental Health field ranging from children, adolescents, and adults . Holds a MSW and LSW in the Social Work Field. Current Role : Intensive Home Lead Therapist

Frequently Asked Questions:
- Where will your residential home be located? SMAC will be located in Cincinnati, Ohio in the community of Avondale
- When is your home opening date? It was SMAC'S hope's to open the Fall 2021, considering the impact of COVID-19 on the housing market we have yet to purchase our property. If our campaign helps to contribute to the funds needed to furnish a home, we will start looking for property late Fall 2021 and hope to open before the 1st of the year 2022.
- When will rewards be shipped? Rewards are shipped bi-weekly in order received. Any graphic Designs rewards will be full filled according to Pcreationz timeline. Any services provided by other business will be based on their timeline once contact is made.
- I don’t’ have a bank account. Can I contribute via PayPal? Yes, monetary contributions can be made via [email protected]
- What will the funds of this campaign be used for? Funds raised for the campaign will be used for the cost of closing fee on property, housing inspection fees, any remodeling, painting interior and or exterior (i.e. equipment, furniture for residents rooms, Bedding, etc).
- Is this all you need? No! There are other costs that need to be covered to get the home open, but this is a huge start! We're securing grants, creating partnerships, and continuing to connect with our community to make SMAC a reality.
