Established in 2021 in Los Angeles California, BANANE is an ode to Haitian cuisine and is here to enhance our community's lifestyle through traditional Haitian food with a hint of 21st century plant-based realness.

Chef Shaëlle, a Haitian born, US raised political refugee, handmakes Candied Ginger, Savory Green, Sweet Yellow and Cinnamon Sugar plantain chips and ships them off to BANANE’s new and recurring customers. You can taste the labor of love that goes into each batch of chips in every bite. Customers are empowered and encouraged to incorporate plantains into their everyday meals via BANANE’s Instagram and website where they can find video and written plant-based recipes.

Shaëlle emphasizes the importance of knowing what you put into your food so that you feel as good as it tastes. Not only are our ingredients GMO-free but they honor Haiti's history. From the heat of cayenne that boosts metabolism, to the subtlety of parsley that honors those killed in the perejil massacre, each chip takes you on a journey through the island of Hispaniola (Haiti and Dominican Republic). Traditional snacks such as potato chips are packed with sodium and vegetable oils. In addition to being high in fiber and naturally gluten-free, BANANE is packed with anti-inflammatories like turmeric and fried in high oleic expeller-pressed safflower oil.

We are seeking to expand BANANE to be the first Haitian, immigrant, Black, woman-owned food company to have a domestic and international presence in schools, specialty shops and grocery stores.

To do so requires a increase in production and sales:

Production: 

-Produce sample products to share with prospective consumers who have never tried plantain chips before  

-Produce ordered product for BANANE's monthly online subscribers

Awareness: 

-Provide samples to prospective retail stores and online subscription boxes

-Participate in pop ups, markets and other community gatherings 

-Share recipes and "ways to eat your chips" on social media

Sales: 

-Regularly sell into schools, specialty shops and grocery stores via in person meet-ups and emails
