ALEKSIE THE LABEL

Hi, welcome! My name is Cassandra Sarcauga and I am the founder and CEO of Aleksie The Label. The company is run by me with the help of my two business partners, Liz and Sada, whom joined my team in March 2021. This brand has truly been such a passion project of mine, and our company’s goal is to create pieces that will cater to ALL body types, while also being sustainable and ethically made. Our focus for our first collection is to create swimwear, and then eventually expand to RTW in the future. In this day and age, fast fashion is ever-so-popular and dominant as it is seen as the easiest and cheapest way to get one's business up and running. However, while that may be the case, that is not something we want to contribute to. We have also noticed that a lot of people who start their own fashion brand, aside from very high-fashion brands, do not really design their own pieces. They buy it wholesale for really cheap, slap their label on it, and sell it for triple the price. At Aleksie, we want our designs to be high quality, original cut-and-sew, and getting them made sustainably and ethically is very important to us. Although it is much more expensive, it is the only way we want to do it as it aligns with our values and beliefs. With the recent negative attention fast-fashion has garnered over the last few months, sustainable and ethical brands are in demand now more than ever, which would be a great selling point for us. On top of the fact that we are women AND Asian-owned, specifically Filipino-owned, is also a big bonus as there isn’t enough Asian representation across all industries. I may not have thousands and millions of followers, but I have the connections to put my brand out there, and I truly just believe in myself, my brand, and what we stand for so much, and I have the passion and the drive to make it happen. Many people will say not to rely on confidence alone, but I am also a strong believer that you have to be your own biggest fan. My team and I are actively working on the brand day in and day out with no financial backing whatsoever other than ourselves, so the process is going a bit slower than our liking, which is why I’m starting this campaign to hopefully get more to fund our business. Whether this campaign is successful or not, I know that with or without it, I will make it work. It will probably be a much slower process, but when there is a will there is a way, and I am determined to find multiple ways. Hopefully this can be one of them, and hopefully, enough of you believe in our project and our vision to support it.
