High Hopes Equine Assisted Healing

The mission of my practice is to serve my local community with effective, ethical, and empathetic mental health care including equine assisted psychotherapy.  Within my local area, there are not many options for equine assisted psychotherapy. The bringing together of the modalities of therapy that I work in (EMDR, DBT) with the equine assisted psychotherapy model is a need for the Lake Norman community. This is because I can treat trauma and mood related symptoms as well as how those symptoms impact the relationships of clients. Being able to offer multiple effective treatment modalities and treatment locations allows me to tailor care to each client and their mental health goals. 

I treat tweens, teens, and adults in both individual and group sessions. The opportunity to provide a service that is in high demand and low supply in my community is promising. Since starting the practice in April 2023, I have been able to see 4 clients on numerous occasions for equine assisted psychotherapy and in office sessions for EMDR. Treating trauma through these modalities has been so fulfilling and I cannot wait to continue to watch the benefit to the community grow. 

I am seeking funding to aid in start up costs and overhead expenses for my new practice. This will include business equipment needs, continuing education, licensing fees, and overhead expenses. This financial aid will benefit the health and healing of many.  No amount is too little to be helpful and impactful. All contributions are appreciated.
