EVOLVERE Mental Health

     EVOLVERE Mental Health is a student mental health platform that works to improve student mental health and student life. We are working to conquer the stigma surrounding mental health and breakthrough barriers that prevent students from benefiting from mental health resources - from a lack of awareness and normalized stressors to preferred anonymity and timing conflicts.

     My name is Tanisha Sylvester and I created EVOLVERE while I was a student, because I saw and experienced the toll that life and academic demands take on students, and the lack of effective available resources. So, equipped with an educational background in public health and a field specialization in mental health, I set out on a mission to make a strong positive impact on student mental health.

     Acting as a supplement to clinical mental healthcare, not a substitute, EVOLVERE works to achieve this mission by serving as an on-demand repertoire of resources that students can turn to when faced with the overwhelming emotions and experiences that have become synonymous with student life. When stress sets in during late-night study sessions that turn into early mornings, when anxiety takes over after realizing their grades are not what they expected, or when homesickness turns into helplessness, students can turn to EVOLVERE for effective strategies to overcome these overwhelming feelings.

     Our platform puts student voices at the forefront of mental health conversations, and gives students the resources to take the lead on their mental health and develop lifelong healthy habits. We forgo a traditional instructive approach in favour of one that is dynamic, community-oriented, and grounded in co-learning. EVOLVERE works with students, advocates, and multi-sectoral professionals to develop tips and strategies that students can adopt into their routines. We are honoured and inspired by the partnerships that we have formed with our collaborators. Our mission is not unique – the mental health advocacy community is strong and growing - the creative ways that we work to achieve this mission is what makes us unique. These factors, along with our long-term vision for impact-oriented growth and ability to unite the student and mental health advocacy communities, put EVOLVERE in a unique position to achieve our mission.

     Improved mental health is not something that can be achieved in a week or even a year. Maintaining one’s mental health is a lifelong journey. With your support, EVOLVERE Mental Health can empower students around the globe to support their mental health.
