Visa and IFundWomen have awarded over a quarter million dollars in grants to women-owned businesses in 2020. Now, we are proud to continue our mission on a global scale and fund women entrepreneurs in India through this grant program.  The application window is now closed.

Small businesses around the world are growing with Visa

Visa & IFundWomen are committed to supporting women entrepreneurs across the globe through access to the capital and connections they need to grow successful businesses. Through this latest initiative, Visa and IFundWomen will present three (3) awards, each valued at INR 700,000, to outstanding e-commerce small businesses in India.

In order to qualify for this grant opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a legal resident of India
  • Must be an Indian Citizen
  • Must be a business run or substantially owned by a woman in India
  • Must have an annual sales value or revenue of Rs. 1,000,000 or more
  • Must be a business that has a product or service in market and generating revenue
  • Must have an e-commerce presence (selling on a digital platform like Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Amazon, Flipkart, Indiamart, etc.)


Visa is making an impact

According to Visa's State of Female Entrepreneurship Report, 66% of women entrepreneurs surveyed cite that funding is still difficult to obtain. To that end, another report found that the average small business requires about $10,000 of startup capital in order to get off the ground. To address this issue, Visa and IFundWomen have awarded $10K grants and access to IFundWomen's coaching program to over 30 women-owned businesses in 2020. Meet some of the recipients:

Priyanka Bakaya
Founder of Renewlogy

Renewlogy has the technology to break down plastics into its basic molecular form, where it can then be reused for other products or as fuel.

Wanona Satcher
Founder of Makhers Studio

Makhers Studio deploys small neighborhood manufacturing centers where they design-build modular shipping container residential, commercial and community spaces. These centers, located in underserved communities, allow for local hiring so residents can build and own the change they want to see.


Amanda Wilson
Founder of VOXAPOD®

VOXAPOD is a benefit corporation and period care brand fighting the gender gap, reducing waste, and building stronger communities. We donate period products and 2% of sales to keep girls in school and provide menstrual health education.
