The year 2017 was a trying year for some for many reasons. In particular for me in April of 2017, I experienced a major health crisis and had it resolved September of 2017.
Out of difficult and trying times I have re-branded and developed my artistic endeavors. I woke up one day in October of 2017 during my recovery process and boom Zahirah Nur Truth Arts was born.
ZNT Arts is a small woman led, minority owned, fine arts, products, and services company based in the South End of Boston.
I especially focus on fine arts related to the African diaspora and produce handmade gemstone jewelry with bead work inspired by African culture. In addition to my fine art and jewelry production, I create one of a kind handmade reconstructed clothing with genuine African fabric outsourced from Ghana.
The services we offer are custom fine art production.
Children’s Art Classes
Ages 1-5 and 6-12
We also offer women from varied economic backgrounds the opportunity to participate in low cost or free jewelry making workshops.
My goal through my current artistic endeavors is to continue to build resources for my business and provide access to other women whom are business minded. I am currently working with contacts in Ghana to build deeper relationships that will help enhance and provide resources to women in Ghana that are responsible for creating the fabric that I use in my work.
Currently I have one added team member that assist me with creative design and jewelry production.
My current creative project is to bring forward "Dope Africa" a unisex clothing line consisting of sweatshirt, tees and other merchandise that brings value and richness to African Culture by reminding others that the legacy and contributions of Africa is "Dope".
Funding that I received from this current project will allow me to bring forward an exclusive modern tailored Summer fashion line that takes old and new African traditions and brings them forward to a more contemporary approach. My goal is to create Africanized as I would say tailored women's clothing that crosses over from casual to business casual office wear.
Funding for my current project will allow me to pay a living wage to my current assistant.
Provide continued access to authentic African fabric by the way of Ghana.
Allow me to provide art classes and art enrichment classes to youth in the Boston and surrounding cities.
