Project Description
- Our Mission: We noticed that yoga, specialized forms of mental health therapy and holistic healing services appear to be inaccessible to at need and underprivileged groups in our communities. This realization also had us look closer at yoga festivals and wellness retreats also being unattainable to people who may need them most. Through identifying this problem blossomed our idea of creating a non-profit organization that would support populations at need and under-privileged to attain holistic healing services, yoga, retreats and a yoga festival; our largest non-profit fundraiser, the Vermont Be True Yoga Festival.
- Our Vision: Vermont Be True is manifesting the accessibility of holistic healing services to all beings despite an individual's financial circumstance. Our vision to make these holistic healing services will not only support the immediate community, but rather extend out throughout the state of Vermont.
- We are currently trying to problem solve finances, we have an abundant of interest in obtaining our services however, we want nothing more than to pay our employees and ourselves for the services that are being provided. Providing services to populations at need and underprivileged is limitless, we do not want to set a cap on how many people we can serve, therefore we need your help!
- We have been offering and still offer: Yoga for Mental Health and Empowerment, Mooncycle Yoga (menstrual product donations to give to local shelters), Evolving Man Yoga, Yoga for Veterans, iREST Yoga Nidra, Buti Yoga, Yoga4Cancer, and other specialized workshops related to mental health.
- Currently our largest fundraiser is the Vermont Be True Yoga Festival which is held annually and a volunteer-driven event. Our goal in 2020 is to raise enough funds from the festival, private donors, sponsorship, fundraiser classes/events and grants to create more classes/workshops/events for those we are serving and pay our instructors.
- Our team is constantly growing, we work hard at developing relationships and hand selecting individuals and organizations that believe in our mission and vision as well as the best practitioners in the local area. We want the best care for our community!
