Great Day!!!
Update on Advocate for Me, LLC. When we set out for this journey in October, 2020 during a pandemic, I had no idea what to expect. We were asking for funds for a location in West Philadelphia so we can open an after school program and respite care for special needs children.
Well with your help and a host of others funding our project we were able to make the deposit, 1st and last months rent and on December 23, 2020 we received the keys to our location. I was so thrilled.
But that's not it. I extended the campaign until January 17, 2021 because I entered a business program called Business Smart program with Drexel University. At the end of the classes they host a pitch competition and it is sort of like Shark Tank, you talk about your business and then someone invest in it.
So I pitch on Thursday, January 14, 2021 and we won second place as well as a grant from Citizens Bank.
I never stopped and I didn't quit now God has opened so many doors for our program during a pandemic and restrictions. I am so excited and I will be ready when the doors open for the children. For now due to the pandemic restrictions, we will offer social distancing events and workshops. We are launching a Self care program for special needs moms in February 2021.
