The Hollowbrook School

Mission Statement: In a community that is diverse, The Hollowbrook School provides an excellent early learning experience to every child that comes the Hollowbrook way.

Thomas Eddison once said that we cannot prepare the future for our children, but we can prepare our children for the future. 

My name is Justice Ballard and I am the founder of The Hollowbrook School. Hollowbrook is a Health-conscious preschool that prepares children for life by introducing students to healthy food choices and helping students navigate new emotions. After years of tutoring and research, I’ve learned that children are not given a sound educational foundation, healthy food options are not deemed as important, and many children struggle to name and understand their feelings.

At Hollowbrook, our children will be reading and learning key math concepts before they reach grade school. Our STEM program will allow our students to fall in love with STEM options so that they will look for STEM Options in the future. We are also providing a Social Emotional Learning program so that Hollowbrook’s students can name their emotions and understand what their feelings mean. We want our students to be smart and emotionally intelligent.

There are many families that are still adapting to the changes that Covid has brought within the last 3 years, so Hollowbrook is providing a school for families that are looking to shape their new normal around education, healthy food choices, and positive emotions.

Problems:

1. Children are not prepared for grade school.

2. Children/families are not aware of healthy food choices.

3. Families are not sorting out new emotions with their children at an early age.

Solutions:

1. Provide a fun/educational curriculum

2. Provide an agriculture curriculum that introduces children to the benefits of fruits and vegetables

3. Putting a name to new feelings through our SEL class and exploring the different vibrations of music that can create the emotions that our students will be learning in their SEL Class.

Target Market:

Families that are looking for an inclusive childcare that is centered around healthy eating and positive emotions! 

Why are we seeking funding?

We would like to buy our garden beds and outdoor tables to create a fun playground/garden area for our students. We also need to secure the funds for our employees and overhead cost.
