Project Description

Hello, my name is Nakeisha Harris, owner and operator of a small mobile and concession food truck called Tutu Sweetz.  We have been in business for approximately 3 years and up until COVID-19 became an issue, we were expanding and thriving. Entering into our second year of a 2 year with Spartanburg County Parks and Recreation.  We were an exclusive provider of concessions for 6 area parks, in which we provided snacks to event goers and general park attendees.  We currently have one mobile trailer, a commercial tent set-up, and a 20' truck that we are currently repairing for operation this year.

I currently operate the company with my two daughter's ages 12 and 19, who are my most vital support because the idea originated from my 12 year old and my 19 year old helped me run my day to day operations.  We began this business as a team project for me and them to spend time together and to learn how to create your own business, manage and run it, and to teach them what it feels like to have their own.  We've always created our own snacks and sold them, but we usually on did it seasonally to raise money for outings. We noticed an interest in what we created and decided to step it up.  Our first official event as a real business, we sold out twice and raised money for charity at the same time.

Our target audience is pretty much anyone who likes sweets and ice cream, though we offer other delicious non- dairy options, frozen desserts are our bread and butter. We have created our own products that have done very well.  We brought an experience to our area that no one had experience yet, "Ono Style" shaved ice and they loved it. Our customers are young and old, male and female, no cultural background is exempt, we can tap into them all.

We offer happiness and usually people are taking a break and enjoying family time when they engage us, the feeling of bringing a smile to our customers faces it awesome and we are good at it.  We'd like mentoring assistance with helping us to expand our brand, so we can franchise our little trucks, and lease them to other families who would enjoy the experience and be great brand ambassadors. I'd like to see Black and Pink trucks all over the Upstate, with families running them together.  It often take millions to own a franchise, we want to offer a cheaper, less stressful, and overall happier experience for our franchisee's.  We'd like to start with our current truck and yearly acquire an additional truck to lease to small business owners to utilize.

To get the ball rolling, the initial truck has to be complete, we have the truck the supplies, the know how and the tenacity to get it done. Whatever we set our minds to do, we are blessed and very fortunate to do so, up until this year, every step and financial move we have made has been funded by me, myself, and I.  I now understand that I need additional funding to expand and make this goal happen.  That is where I fund women comes in, the knowledge and experience that I am gaining by joining this organization can greatly advance my goals and dreams.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank any and everyone who took the time to read this campaign. Even if this is not the organization you are looking to back, remember my story and say a little prayer for me and my girls, because no matter what, we will succeed, we go hard.  Once again, I thank you and appreciate you, be blessed.

Very Respectfully,

Nakeisha Harris,

Owner/Operator -Tutu Sweetz

The Campaign FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions:

Why us?

We are a hard-working family that COVID-19 shut down and we we're just at that point that expansion was on the horizon.  We stepped out on faith and it was starting to pay off, we miss and need to continue and see where this leads us.

How long will the upgrade and expansion take us?

Our upgrade will be completed before the summer of 2021, our plan is to expand and acquire our new truck December of this year, so we can start upgrading for summer 0f 2022.  We have a family that is already interested in joining our team, so our first franchisee opportunity depends on when we complete the second truck.

How will we expand and maintain our trucks?

We have our own property in which we will store and maintain our trucks each and every day.  We have a team that has already started to work and expand on our initial truck with a completion date of May 2021. (Hopefully).
