About Neuro-based Speech Solutions and our mission:

In March 2020, I formed Neuro-based Speech Solutions, LLC. with the intent to begin a speech therapy private practice in Montrose, Colorado. Shortly after, the COVID-19 shut down was put in place, resulting in my company unable to secure an appropriate clinic location, proper PPE and clinic materials, and adequate referral sources without the assistance of another therapy clinic in the area. I have been a speech language pathologist for over ten years, specializing in adult neuro-rehabilitation and traumatic brain injury rehabilitation. I primarily work with adults following a stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, and other neurological impairments.

Throughout my career as a practicing speech pathologist in Montrose, I have had the opportunity to facilitate the local traumatic brain injury and stroke support group, provide educational opportunities for community members, and provide high quality services to patients but at an inconsistent rate due to inadequate funding sources as a result of COVID-19. However, during this time I have had the ability to generate more referrals from providers in the Montrose area, create and maintain working relationships with medical providers, office managers, and medical assistants, increase understanding and awareness of the importance of speech therapy services for individuals following a stroke, traumatic brain injury, and other neurological incidents to regain functional independence and safety with functional daily tasks.
